How big is the metro/city/town/whatever in which you live?
RustShack's Salina thread gives me the impression that a lot of people around here are somewhat against living in a "small town." That got me wondering about what kinds of places people on here live. So the question is, how big (in terms of population size) is the place where you live?
If you don't know, here are some places that could help. For those who consider yourself to live in a metro area: List of US Metro Areas For those who live in a "city" or "town": U.S. Census Population Finder |

Wow. I can't believe we are as small as we are. I thought we had about 10,000 more people living here in Hutch. So by the 2006 #'s, we have roughly 1.5 fast food joints per citizen......yet we have only 4 actual restaurants.
Population 2006 - 41,085. |

I don't know if Ft. Lauderdale, and Miami are one metro area, but it sure seems like it.
I'm from the country, and grew up having to go through rural areas between cities. In south FL it's city from West Palm beach to Miami. Miami(Dade Co.) 3mil, Ft Lauderdale(Broward Co,) 1.5 (I believe) Last edited by beach tribe; 03-26-2008 at 09:54 AM.. |

I live in the KC Metro area but on the far west side. It's a mix of a few subdivisions and many homes on acreage. I like the wide open spaces along with the convenience of being close to big city amenities. The city is creeping closer and closer, though.

I live in Grover Beach, Ca.
The city is around 12,000. But like most of coastal californis, ther is little to no separation from city to city. The area I live in is, which includes San Luis Obispo county and the city of Santa Maria is about 350,000.

Vacaville, CA - 92,691
but it's close enough to: #116 - Fairfield/Vallejo (411,680) that I would consider it part of that. Edit: I grew up in Pierre, SD which is the capitol of South Dakota and only has 14,095 people. |
