Broncos-Texans injury report: Bryant Gumbel OUT
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/...t/5370560.html Gumbel to miss Thursday's Broncos-Texans broadcast By DAVID BARRON Copyright 2007 Houston Chronicle NFL Network play-by-play announcer Bryant Gumbel is suffering from a sore throat and will be replaced by Tom Hammond for Thursday's Broncos-Texans broadcast at Reliant Stadium, a network spokesman said Tuesday. Hammond will join Cris Collinsworth, with whom he called a playoff game last year for NBC, for the NFL Network broadcast, said network spokesman Seth Palansky. Gumbel, meanwhile, will rest up for the network's Saturday night game between the Bengals and 49ers. He will work the game with Deion Sanders and Marshall Faulk as Collinsworth prepares for his Sunday job on NBC's Football Night in America. This is the second time in as many seasons that NFL Network has had to shuffle announcer lineups because of illness. Last December, analyst Dick Vermeil was unable to work the second half of a Cowboys-Falcons game because of throat problems and was replaced by Sanders and Faulk. |

I don't think it's a coincidence that Gumbel is getting bumped from a game that has playoff implications to call a game that nobody would watch even if they could.

Word of real advice Go-Chiefs. Stand up for yourself and your self confidence and pride will carry you through tougher times in the future. You can be a man if you try... I promise bro.

Why don't they just fire the idiot already? Surely they can see that the public hates the product.
