correct, but on balance, Hoch lost the game.

If you have to assign partial liability like in a courtroom, then I give Yost 10% of the loss.

Perhaps after the first one, Treinor goes out and talks to him and he reigns it it and he gets out of a jam

In principle, we agree. My problem is that I expect Hoch to perform like a #5 because that's what he is. I don't expect Yost to do things to put us in position to lose, so this is fueling my anger.

Anything is possible, anything can happen, but I doubt it. He had a very high pitchcount and had lost it against good hitters. Its hard to believe the runner on 3rd doesn't score regardless of whatever half-listened-to tired words are said.

So why is he in the game again?

Edit: my last pissed-off post for the night. Game's over. We play tomorrow for the split. **** it.

this is the 6th inning, not the 7th. No one was warmed up and ready to go, nor should they have been expected to have been because Hoch's decline was sudden, unexpected, and rapid.

I'll have to look it up, but after the 1st balk i think it was runner on 2nd no one in.

I'm not disagreeing with that, you're still ignoring the first balk

And if its close at all, the Indians take the late innings more seriously and throw better pitchers in there sooner. So no, I flatly deny that its a given that Yost cost us 3 or 4 runs.
Yes because the Indians didn't take it seriously by putting in a guy who hadn't given up a run in his first 8 outtings of the season in Sipp and not one guy they threw tonight has an era over 2.89.

Yost was the biggest contributing factor in this loss with poor decision making on multiple occasions. I forgive him because he does a lot more right than wrong, but tonight he was brain dead in his decision making.

If I start the thread tomorrow (there's no rule saying I have to, I'll probably put it up during lunch if its not up yet) I think I'll ditch this silly gimmick and just display the Indians logo in all its putrid glory.

Any modified image I choose to put up, even when "demonized", looks better than their completely stupid, totally racist Chief Wahoo.

That's what I was thinking ever since all of that started. I still don't think the Indians really just started hitting him all of a sudden because they figured out something. I think Hochevar just lost it after giving up one hit.

You should absolutely start the thread. I'm generally just a lurker in Royals threads on here but for whatever reason the Royals win a lot more games when you start the thread. They almost never win when other posters start them and frankly, yours are just better because of your in game box score.
