Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

they finally are making an extended mag for the 380 which will help.

P32 is much easier to handle. I'd love to try a 380 with extended mag thought.

Finding somewhere to take my CCH class on a scheduled day off is becoming something of a chore. Looked all over KSCCW.com and the only thing I found was a place in Independence, MO that has a class on Sunday. I'm not keen on driving 7 hours (to and fro) but it seems like I am left with little other choice. I did contact a local Wichita PD Lt. who would do instruction on my day off but I need to scrounge up 4 other people before he will form a class and understandably so.

Do we have 4 people near Wichita that want to get a CCH? LOL

IF you do end up driving to Independence.....would a MO CCW be valid in Kansas?? I would think you'd have to take the course in your state of residence? not sure but it may be something to check into before dropping the dough.

They specifically offer the KSCCW permit class. I double checked that.

I have a CMMG AR. No problems so far, I would estimate 500 + rounds through it. Mine is piston rather than having the gas tube.

As a CCW permit holder would my wife be able to carry one of my guns or will she need to purchase one of her own? Anyone know?

Still have to drive to Independence, but it's only $50, and they supply everything.

All you need to bring is cash and ID. Good class, great instructors.

Very light, but still felt like it was all business.

The one thing I seriously dislike about my Mini is how unbelievably difficult it can be to get the bolt back in during reassembly. It must be held at just the proper angle, with your left leg in the air, while spinning in circles, and the 3rd moon of Jupiter must be aligned with Betelgeuse in order to get that damn thing back in.

That said... the rifle is clean and ready for a workout and I look like I went spelunking in a black powder cave.

In Oklahoma, you can carry someone else's gun as long as you are certified with a pistol or revolver.

I would think that if something went down....or maybe even if you were pulled over for a traffic offense and they looked you up on the computer and saw that you have a CCW permit....if an officer takes a look at your carry for whatever reason....you'd be wise to be the owner. I'd think being the spouse of the owner would suffice. if an officer finds out you are carrying a gun that isn't registered to you....I wouldn't think that would set right with him/her. good question though.

I have been pulled over for speeding since I've had my CCW and nothing was said about it. I didn't offer the info and he didn't mention it. I assume it just depends what kind of computer they have in the car?? or maybe HOW they look you up?? I'd assume if the wanted to they could find out. both hands on the wheel yall!

hey what do you mean "certified"? (I actually know what the WORD means...but not in this context) far as I know in Misery (MO) you get a CCW and shove a gun in your britches and go man!

Kansas is the same.

I would assume OK will let a CCW carry any handgun as long as it isn't stolen.

I found a great website that breaks down individual state laws, what transfers, etc. Let me see if I can dig it up.
