Would You Rather: Alex or Cassel plus two seconds?

Would you rather have:

Cassel starting and two second rounders or

Alex Smith

I understand this hypothetical is a straw man, but just trying to get a real gauge on how much people like Alex/hate Cassel...

Cassel is damaged goods in KC....the last two years appear to have unnerved him so I don't think he was a realistic option in KC. He needs a scenery change.....so the obvious answer is alex smith.

Is the obvious question:

"Which NFL QB can replace cassel, and come the closest to exactly replicating the risks and rewards of having a totally underwhelming QB at the helm?"

**** you shit stain. The question thread op could easily be taken as we would have to start Cassel but we'd still have 2 2nds. As opposed to A. Smith and 1 2nd. As in, we had 2 2nd's, now we only have one, as your brother claimed earlier today...

8 and 8 trumps 2 and 14...gotta crawl before you can walk. The stadium was packed and enthusiasm ran high during the 90s..sure beat the negativity and half full stadium this year.....smith can equal any QB Marty had. When we get to that level...then maybe we can think about super bowl....but talking super bowl QB out of this years college crop or super bowl with all the holes on the current team is just stupid.

yep. They are the same QB. Except some how Smith even fumbles more than Cassel if you can believe it.

Matt Cassel - 58.9 completion %, 13,495 yards, 82 TD, 57 INT, 24 Fumbles, 80.4 Passer Rating

Alex Smith - 59.3 completion %, 14,280 yards, 81 TD, 63 INT, 36 Fumbles, 79.1 Passer Rating

Cassel is an awful QB.

Alex Smith is an above average QB.

The war is on whether we should have gone with above average for the next 1-2 seasons or picked someone the team was apparently not high on.

I'll be the first to say that I am not impressed with Geno Smith as a potential pro. That said, I sure as hell ain't impressed with Alex Smith either. Blowing 1 or 2 2nd rounders for a guy you KNOW has had their struggles in the NFL vs a single 1st for a guy that might be 'the guy' is a no-brainer - you take the guy in the 1st, who at least has a chance to be good. This move is just flat out dumb.

First positive homer post on this: If Alex can play like he has the last 2 years, then this team can go to the playoffs. Doubt they are snagging any wins though.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).
