This loss should test the willpower of the team, the team went on a 12 game losing streak last season after Brox lost a game like this.

Shit, bring Hoe Chaser. He's used to pitching with guys on base. He does it all the time. And if he gives up the winning hit, it's not a big surprise. They're paying him closer money, that's for sure. Holland walked the FREAKING BASES LOADED right out of the gate. You can't have a "closer" do that, man. It's kiss of death stuff.

but hey ... baseball 101 book says you leave him in

oh that's right ... the book says you don't send your closer out if it's not a save situation so it couldn't be 10 runs.

stupid ass traditional bullshit

But even then... you don't get someone warming up until the 3rd walk... Holland strikes out the next two guys and probably stays in, regardless of the manager. People have to stop overreacting to every little gust of wind.
Exactly.

So do you start warming him up at the beginning of the 9th?

I'm not sure you guys even understand how baseball works.

Might as well see if Holland still has the balls to close. I'd rather find out now then later, even if it did cost us a game

They are not going to have someone start warming up in the beginning of the 9th just in case. By the time he gets to his 2nd or 3rd walk, maybe you call the bullpen but its too late. Then, he gets the next 2 guys out, no one is going to pull him then.
