Geno Smith fans roll call

NEW THREAD HEADER (11/17/12):

The list is gone. We will all be Geno Smith fans when he gets drafted by the Chiefs. For historical documentation's sake, I'll keep the list in a separate post on this thread: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=3314

WHY GENO SMITH?
If you're wondering if Geno Smith is right for you, check out this brilliant post by Saccopoo:

http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=5388

Next, we have a few GIFs you may be interested in from the Oklahoma game. Insane potential. These are the elite throws that very few QBs can make. What more can I say? Geno Smith can be a franchise QB in the NFL, and the Chiefs need to take a shot on him.

GIF #1:
Spoiler!

GIF #2:
Spoiler!

GIF #3 (My favorite):
Spoiler!

HOW DO WE GET HIM HERE?

Glad you asked. I posted this checklist earlier. It probably belongs in the thread header, and will be updated as the Chiefs close out their season and start a new chapter in their franchise story.

Preparing for Geno Smith's Arrival In KC Checklist

1. [X] Lose games and acquire the #1 overall pick
2. [X] Get Pioli and the Patriot Way cronies the **** out
3. [X] Hire new GM/coach

OPTIONAL (but highly recommended):
4. [ ] Re-sign/tag Bowe, who really wants to play in KC with Geno
5. [ ] Re-sign/tag Albert

Yes, ****ing ABSOLUTELY.

The guy that JUST called me out started a thread in which he wanted Stanzi in the second round. I said he was a fifth rounder at best (if not undrafted).

Duh.

Plenty of Mizzou homers pined for Chase Daniel(s) and said the Chiefs should spend a #1 draft choice for him. Same for Gabbert.

Excuse the **** out of me for being somewhat skeptical.

Holy shit. Who said that about Daniel? IMO Daniel was going to be a better NFL QB than Gabbert, but even then I didn't think Daniel was worth any pick in the first 3 rounds.

Whatever.

I've seen how this forum has "Fallen in Love" with shit QB's over the years, whether it be Ricky ****ing Stanzi or Chase Daniel(s) or Blaine Gabbert, which just happen to be some of the same people pimping Smith.
Not all of them.

Of the QB's the Chiefs had a shot at drafting in the past five years, the two I liked were Aaron Rogers and Colin Kaepernick and I wouldn't have used the Chiefs first rounder that year on Kaepernick. Second round, yes.

And I'm all in for Geno.

The guy has all the tools, the potential to be elite, IMO. Yeah, I like him better than Griffin and just a hair under Luck.

Oh my god. Im no talent evaluator but I could tell ya Stanzi is shit, Gabbert is ****ing awful and Daniels is a system QB. Theres just something i like in Geno. Plus i love that he gets pissed. He hates losing. Atleast well have some passion on the sidelines

Excuse me for being somewhat skeptical and for having my own thought process.
I think most of us are "Smith or Wilson, pick one" rather than Smith is the best bar none. Although I do personally think he is. But I think just about anybody in the thread would be about as happy with Wilson at #1, if that's the decision the team makes. I also think most of us will be wildly disappointed if they don't take one of the two. And I don't think there's anybody else even worth discussing, not at the top of the draft. I wouldn't touch Barkley any higher than the 20s, wouldn't touch Bray or Jones in the 1st round at all (and maybe not the 2nd), and I'd probably talk Ryan Nassib before I even mentioned Mike Glennon.

I do think there's a number of QBs we can talk about in the class - it's not nearly as bad as some folks are trying to make it out to be - I just only see two of them being in the discussion for our pick.

Maybe that changes by March. Who knows. I expect that Smith will be the consensus #1 by then. He should do very well both in his workouts and his interviews. But if it's somebody else? That's fine too.

I did want Wilson this year along with Tannehill, last year my guy was Kaepernick.

Well, IIRC, CoMoChief. But that shouldn't be surprising.

There were others as well. Hell, I saw someone on the KC Star just yesterday reply to a Mellinger article that "Reid should get on the phone and trade for Chase Daniel, asap".

I don't follow, nor subscribe, to other NFL team's forums but if this isn't the dumbest fan base in the NFL, it's got to be goddamn close.

I called you out?

Daniels and Gabbert were local guys...Ricky could be considered one, too.

There is no bias with Geno and you calling him jag shows how little you've seen of him (which isn't a slam on you, you have admitted that you've seen less than 2 full games of his)

I think Smith is every bit as polished a passer as Griffin was at this time last year, I think he has similar tools and attributes in the passing game. He's accurate, can make the reads, can make all the throws, has arm strength to spare. What he does not have is Griffin's sheer freaky athleticism (or Griffin's pair of military parents, making him such a character goldmine, story-wise). So I would put him under RG3. But I do think he's a QB who could transition quickly to the pro game. And while he does not have Griffin's legs, he is very mobile in his own right. And I think he'd be in the discussion for the #1 pick in any recent draft aside from last year.

You're a WV or V guy - did you watch him this season? I saw the K-State game and was wildly disappointed. I tried again to watch him versus Oklahoma State and turned off the TV. Better things to do.

Anyway, with the ****ing non-stop pimping of the guy, I expected to see a sure-fire #1 overall guy, not what I saw.

And DJ's Left Nut suggested early on that their ****ing asshat of coach should be the Chiefs next Offensive Coordinator, to which I fully disagreed.

There are just too many ****ing homers here anymore and it's just too difficult to sort through them.
