The Chiefs coaching staff list we posted earlier today was pretty spot (sans the quality coaches, strength guys,... Eric Bieniemy (Running Backs), Tommy Brasher (Defensive Line), Travis Crittenden (Assistant Strength and Conditioning), David Culley (Assistant Head Coach/Wide Receivers), Mike Frazier (Statistical Analysis Coordinator), Corey Matthaei (Quality Control), Tom Melvin (Tight Ends), Matt Nagy (Quarterbacks), Britt Reid (Quality Control) and Barry Rubin (Head Strength and Conditioning).

Clark just isn't missing around this offseason. We are way ahead of the curb while other teams are still in search of HC staff and GM to hire them guys.

Well given the way Pioli ran this organization, it's probably fitting. Got to hop the curb and get back on the road before we even hit the curve.

The Vikings have given running backs coach Eric Bieniemy a promotion and a raise, successfully persuading him to remain with the team rather than join Lane Kiffin’s staff at USC.

Vikings head coach Brad Childress confirmed this sequence of events Saturday evening, according to a blog by the Minneapolis Star Tribune’s Judd Zulgad.

Bieniemy told Childress on Thursday morning that he was staying with the Vikings and turning down the offensive coordinator position at USC. Kiffin subsequently hired Titans RB coach Kennedy Pola to become his O-coordinator, angering Titans head coach Jeff Fisher.

Bieniemy, who is entering the first year of a two-year contract, is being given the title of assistant head coach/offense but will continue to coach the Vikings’ running backs.

Childress has said several times that he considers Bieniemy one of the top RB coaches in the NFL, according to the Star Tribune, and believes he has the ability to be a head coach in the league.

Will be interesting to see how well JC receives Bienemy's personality since JC is a shy soft spoken guy.

[QUOTE=The Bad Guy;9306973]Yes, in most of those cases, that's just because they haven't named a successor.

I was wrong about Chung. He'll likely be an assistant oline coach.

Haven't been able to lock down 100% that Gibbs and Emmitt are staying. SOC has great sources so I trust them, but just can't get that confirmed.

Warhop's resume is impressive. Cleveland has had a really good o-line although they have some great pieces.

Childress is definitely coming as Pederson mentioned today.

Sutton is the real wild card. My friend that works for a major newspaper as the Jets beat says he's a great coach that will bring a lot. I look at the 49ers with Fangio (who with the Colts couldn't stop a midget team) and that gives me hope.

Bob Sutton to Become New Defensive Coordinator of the Kansas City Chiefs? By John B on Jan 11, 11:18a 27 Howard Smith-US PRESSWIRE Share on Facebook Share on Twitter

The longest tenured Jets coach might be on his way out the door according to Manish Mehta. Following up from this morning: I was told Jets assistant Bob Sutton interviewed with Chiefs for DC job yesterday. Hearing he'll be hired

Goodness gracious, what an awful decision that would be for the Chiefs. You probably remember Sutton's run as Jets defensive coordinator under Eric Mangini from 2006 to 2008. The Jets never had a defense ranked higher than 16th. The scheme was unimaginative. Sutton didn't blitz much, and when he did, it was terribly designed. This all led to a demotion when Rex Ryan came aboard.

As you all know, playing with largely the same personnel and without the best player Sutton had, Kris Jenkins, for most of the year the Jets had the number one defense in the league the year after Sutton left the defensive coordinator post. With all of the good coaches the Jets have on defense, Andy Reid is going to hire the one bad coach. Lets hope he has learned from his mistakes as DC and has been paying attention since!

I'm fine with this staff. I'm trusting Reid to build a staff he can depend on and work with. And I think he knows a little more about this than the fans do. I mean, it's not like we're going to get 10 head coaches to be assistants.

On a totally different note, I saw that we hired a statistical analysis coordinator. Is this moneyball/metrics stuff, or was this an existing position?

They're going to evaluate the QBs on the roster, people. I think we all know what conclusion will be arrived at.
Exactly! He's not gonna toss Cassel under the bus in his first media conference call when the guys still on the roster.

Reread what he says- basically just states two facts about MC's record in 2 prior seasons and then says he's done some "nice" things...

Don't fool yourselves but nice is the equivalent of jack-shit if used to sum up an evaluation on a player. Nice is the word you use to describe an ugly / fat chick that a friend or family member is trying to set you up with. You don't want to come out and say anything harsh, and nice is simply code for "not in my ****ing lifetime if I have any say in the matter."

NO coordinator hire would have done that for me.

At the end of the day, these guys are assistant coaches. They call plays and put their players in the best position to perform well and win.

Sure, you want smart, innovated coordinators, but Peyton Manning could make even Daboll look like a genious.

I think about Gunther in the 90s.

Most of us loved him.

Then you stop and remember all the talent he had to work with.
