Will DT make the HOF tomorrow?

I hope DT gets in this time . I am almost certain he will get in but not sure about this year . There are not many defensive players who meant as much to a defense as Derriek did with the Chiefs and also with the Crimson Tide . I am a Bama fan also and he took over tide games like he did Chief games . Against Penn State he not only made many great plays on defense but also blocked a field goal and punt to win the game for Bama . Go Chiefs !!

Wow.

I bet that no one else thought to ask this question already, and that others never thought to make the same observations.

Hell, I bet that there isn't anyone who even knew he was up for consideration.

This is an UNOFFICIAL poll on the ESPN website. Unless it's the result of Planeteers packing the ballot box, the general public also seems to agree that DT will make it. Take it for what it's worth.

--

Thank you for voting. See below to see who SportsNation thinks should head to Canton. Remember, on the official ballot, a candidate must get 80 percent of the vote to be elected with a minimum of three and a maximum of six getting in. If fewer than three get 80 percent, the candidate with the next highest percentage will be elected.

(Players with 80 percent of the vote appear in bold.)

Which players would get your Hall of Fame vote? (vote for as many as desired)

90.0% Art Monk, WR -- Redskins (1980-93), Jets (1994), Eagles (1995)
85.5% Thurman Thomas, RB -- Bills (1988-99), Dolphins (2000)
83.1% Bruce Matthews, G/C -- Oilers/Titans (1983-2001)
81.9% Derrick Thomas, LB -- Chiefs (1989-99)

34.0% Michael Irvin, WR -- Cowboys (1988-99)
33.8% Gene Hickerson, G -- Browns (1958-73)
24.7% Charlie Sanders, TE -- Lions (1968-77)
22.7% Andre Reed, WR -- Bills (1985-99), Redskins (2000)
21.6% Paul Tagliabue, NFL Commissioner (1989-2006)
21.1% Richard Dent, DE -- Bears (1983-93, 1995), 49ers (1994), Colts (1996), Eagles (1997)
17.0% Ray Guy, P -- Raiders (1973-86)
16.6% Russ Grimm, G -- Redskins (1981-91)
13.5% Gary Zimmerman, T-- Vikings (1986-92), Broncos (1993-97)
11.2% Bob Kuechenberg, G -- Dolphins (1970-84)
9.8% Fred Dean, DE -- Chargers (1981-85), 49ers (1981-85)
8.2% Andre Tippett, LB -- Patriots (1982-93)
7.6% Roger Wehrli, CB -- Cardinals (1969-82)

He doesn't deserve to get in this early, IMO, but he probably will because of Lamar's passing, whatever connection that is.
