DayZ

With the DayZ standalone playable alpha release looming, I thought I would check out the mod version of the game. http://dayzdev.tumblr.com/

If you dont know, DayZ is an open world survival zombie game modification based off of the military sim ArmA 2 games. www.dayzmod.com

Basically its hardcore mode survival against zombies and even more dangerous, other players.

I have been watching vids for months and took advantage of a steam sale today to pick up ArmA 2.

Anyone playing DayZ right now? Servers? Thoughts? I have a teamspeak we can use!

Mainly based on the Arma style controls. I just think the controls are too complicated for a console controller.

The new patch adds a shit load of police stations and medical buildings throughout the map. That will be good for populating the minor cities. Stoked on that.

It would be smart of them. Of course I do not know how well it would be on a console. Might have to be played with a mouse and keyboard, with their new usb update.

I believe the PS4 controller can work quite well since it has a tracking pad on the controller. That would help greatly with inventory. The xbone controller may have larger obstacles without it.

Okay, so hopped in still naked from last night near Elektro on a low pop server. Started gearing up. Then while I'm in a building, I hear the login ammo loading noise, and know someone is near me. I get prone in the building I'm in and look out a window and BAM, right up the stairs he came as I was looking out the window and he killed me.

4 man server, looting around NEAF, came around the corner and there is a guy with a magnum in his hand and barrel in my face.

I had one too.

I got off three shots he got off two. He might have died, or been unconcious. I was knocked unconscious.. after about 2 minutes KOed, I woke back up, bandaged myself up, and put a bullet in his brain to make sure he was dead.

Next update lets me check his pulse so I can save a bullet :P
