The cartoon is offensive to a lot of people and I'm positive many of have no clue about the reference to the NRA.

If that's the case, I'm sorry. Their line of "the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun" has been all over the place lately.

One can see this as tramping on his grave, but what better person to highlight the flaw in the NRAs logic but a guy that was as good as it gets in life and as good as it gets with guns.

Thanks, I had no idea about this line. Like I said, I don't follow the NRA. I thought the cartoon was commenting on the fact that Kyle was killed at a shooting range where many good people go, who are gun enthusiasts, to fire their guns and practice gun safety and whatnot. I didn't think anything about the NRA.

I read it as hey look, this trained sniper was on a shooting range full of good people who were armed, and Chris Kyle STILL was still shot.

the cartoon falls short because it plays to the tail wagging the dog mentality, based off of one bad guy with a gun...

The cartoon, at worst, is offensive to his family.

Stop being a martyr. You're not offended, you just dislike the narrative.

Be honest.

I think it's in poor taste and I think Judge is creative enough to make the same point in a different way. I think Judge was going for the low hanging fruit with this cartoon.

He is inferring the NRA good-guys situation and this one are similar. They are not. What you had with Chris Kyle, was a guy who was reaching out to a fellow soldier who was suffering serious PTSD. Further, the fact that he would use Kyle's death to further an agenda which Kyle himself likely opposed is insulting.

That's in such poor taste that I'm caused to wonder whether he might be one of us.

If you say you believe it's in poor taste, I will not dispute it. It's not that I agree, but it's your opinion.

I'm just fed up with people on the left and right blowing their victim whistle and crying "I'm offended" every time something they disagree with is stated by anyone in public. Most of the time the people saying it are not offended. They just love to feign outrage in an attempt to act morally superior to others.

I wouldn't draw this if I was a political cartoonist. However part of that gig is pushing the envelope who knows.

I know that there has been pretty much nobody spared from mockery when a death comes up here and it is usually a race to make puns and jokes about it. But this is just crazy over the line.

Maybe I just don't know where the line is you people are always moving it.

The whole thing though is that this isn't aimed at Kyle. It's aimed at the NRA. How can one ever refute this "we need to arm everyone" bs if talking about good guys dieing is off limits.

Nobody had a problem talking about the woman that shot the guy in the face lately and rightfully so, but if the NRA can defend itself with that story, it should be acceptable to attack the NRA(not Kyle) with this story.
