Pitt State Thrashes NWMS!

50-36. That was a crazy game. Pitt made a lot of mistakes that NW turned into points. In the end, Pitt simply had too much talent for the Bearcats. I couldn't have asked for a better game to see in person.

I really hope PSU makes it to the NC game. I'll have a hard time watching it if they don't.
Oh I'll watch, but I don't have to like it.

Northwest is on, what? It's third string quarterback? What a program.

Classic.

KC, overall, has poor management when it comes to sports. If you listened to 810 this morning, apparently, the Wizards are going to get rid of Tony Meola. Not that I'm a huge soccer fan but, he wants to be here and he's a recognizable person in the community. The Royals are doing the same thing with Joe Randa.

Meola isn't the problem with the Wizards just as Randa isn't the problem with the Royals. However, nobody seems to recognize that.

Couple all this with the Chiefs free-fall and it's not a good time to be a KC sports fan.

I can tell that you are not a soccer fan. Read more info on Meola.

Also I do agree with you that they need to keep both. But I have a feeling you don't have a grasp on why they are letting them go.

Well, to be honest, I don't know anything about soccer. All I know is that the only guy on the team I can name is Tony Meola.

As far as Randa is concerned, I know they don't want to pay his $3.3 mil option. So, they're cutting costs (which is no surprise). But, Randa has taken less each year just to stay in KC. That, to me, says a lot.

Plus, they're getting rid of Mizerak which leads me to believe that there's gonna be a complete overhaul at 3rd base. They're going with that guy who played well in the Fall League but, there's also a butt-load of good free agent 3rd basemen this year.

I'm just irritated at the state of professional sports, most notably baseball. I went to the Joe Randa Chairity Tennis Tournament and saw many of the things he does for this city. I just think it's a shame they have to get rid of the one person who really wants to be here.

I was talking about sports, not soccer.

Keeping Randa around is a waste of $. I know he's a great guy, but you don't build contenders by keeping guys around just because they're nice. (ie 2004 Chiefs)

What does it say? How does keeping around a $3 million player for a couple more years make us any better, other than getting in the way of Teahan?

Ummm, are you suggesting that a change of third base coaches has something to do with getting rid of Randa, because he plays third base?

Name one decent FA third baseman that the Royals could afford this year.

Teahan isn't going to play right off the bat. Sorry to inform you of that.

???? Uh...

Regardless, I know KC can't afford any of the 3BM on the market. But, is Joe Randa a good baseball player? Yes. He's worth one more year, and he would take less money to stay one more year. Since Teahen isn't going to step in and play right away, why not keep Randa another year?

I know that KC already signed some minor league journeyman to a one year deal to replace Randa. I suppose Randa wouldn't take whatever dude did, so I suppose it had to be done.

And by the way, what's with your "Internet Message Board" superiority complex I see oozing through my monitor?

Well judging by your inability to attribute quotes to the correct person, it's not a complex.

First off I will hand it to you all you did a good job, but lets not forget our first string QB Lamberson was hurt and not playing, so our sophmore who had 1 previous start played. It would have been a much better game if Lamberson was in, its okay we will see you all next year, good luck in the playoffs.

Hey, at least misery has company. PSU football and MU volleyball are all I've got right now. I'll watch the MU basketball,Chiefs, and Royals games and will enjoy them fully, but Pitt (and MU volleyball) is the only winner right now.
