Branden Albert trade won’t happen unless he lowers his price

Branden Albert trade won’t happen unless he lowers his price

Branden Albert AP

The much-discussed potential trade of Branden Albert from the Chiefs to the Dolphins doesn’t appear likely at the price Albert is currently seeking.

Although the Chiefs and Dolphins can probably agree on compensation — the Dolphins sending a second-round pick to Kansas City — the hangup is that Albert wants the kind of money that the Dolphins aren’t willing to spend. Specifically, according to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, Albert wants between $8 million and $9 million a year on a long-term deal.

In other words, Albert is looking for the same kind of contract that left tackle Jake Long got from the Rams — the very contract the Dolphins wouldn’t give Long, which is why he left Miami for St. Louis.

If the Dolphins weren’t willing to pay Long that kind of money, it’s hard to see why they’d be willing to give up a second-round draft pick for the privilege of paying Albert that kind of money. So the Dolphins may need to look elsewhere for a left tackle. And Albert may have to settle for playing this season for the Chiefs, making $9.8 million, and hitting free agency next year.

Yeah, really went bargain hunting with Dwayne Bowe.

You're ****ing ridiculous. You deal with complete hyperbole. Yes, I wouldn't pay a top 15 LT 9 million a year either. But I suppose if you were a Raiders fan, you'd be ok with paying Tommy Kelly too.

Clay has always been an idiot and many people here are starting to act exactly like him.

This place has become a ****ing cesspool of know it all GM's who know both sides of every negotiation and how every move will play out 5 minutes after it is made or not made.

Hilarious how Reid and Dorsey were great hires 4 months ago and now they are mouth breathing reeruns.

Probably because it isn't an analogy, and simply an observation that it seems like Scotty is still a bitter bitch for getting 86`d so quickly for his incompetence.

Analogy
For other uses, see Analogy (disambiguation).
This page has some issues
Analogy (from Greek ἀναλογία, analogia, "proportion"[1][2]) is a cognitive process of transferring information or meaning from a particular subject (the analogue or source) to another particular subject (the target), and a linguistic expression corresponding to such a process. In a narrower sense, analogy is an inference or an argument from one particular to another particular, as opposed to deduction, induction, and abduction, where at least one of the premises or the conclusion is general. The word analogy can also refer to the relation between the source and the target themselves, which is often, though not necessarily, a similarity, as in the biological notion of analogy.

Just where do you even remotely see any allusion between similar relational properties of any sort.

I wouldn't call them reeruns but they're not inspiring confidence.

I'm disappointed.

Yea I am sure that is all it is Clay, 1.5MM a year one way or another for 5 years. You know all, you know exactly why Reid and Dorsey didn't just pay Albert what he wanted rather than draft Fisher.

Just like you know why Miami is still saying Albert is asking for too much.

I likes the Reid hiring, but what exactly have they done to inspire confidence? Am I supposed to be excited abouts Alex Smith and Eric Fisher as our two biggest offseason pickups?

This is almost true. It would lead to the death of all newborns for the rest of human history. Damning us to the knowledge of our own demise just over the horizon of time, and knowing our efforts to avoid it are futile. Within 100 years almost all of humanity, except for some really old asian people, will be gone. No one left to stand in awe of the Great Pyramids or the steel wonder simply known as JerryDome, the football stadium and tomb of Jerry Jones built in 2036. Statues of John Dorsey will be constructed so that humanity may soil and desecrate his image. Time will bury the evidence that we ever existed at all. Eventually nature will select another species to rise above the rest. Will they be worthy?

This whole thing is on Albert. Good for him if he's happy to hold out for more money. He sure better realize where he stands when nobody is willing to take OT after OT in the draft rather than pay his price.

Yes. They wiped the QB slate clean and started over. They addressed every hole on the team in one way or another. They re-signed Dwayne Bowe when the conventional wisdom was that he was gone. It's time to be cautiously optimistic if not outright excited.
