Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

To be fair, there is an obvious dichotomy between the two to the point where you might as well consider them different species rather than just different cultivars.

I could get behind that. It'd be good for consumers if that shit could no longer be called "corn" at all.

Exactly. The original maize plant had a very high germ content (lots of protein). Today's corn, which whether we like it or not, is the main ingredient in everything we eat, is almost entirely starch. It's almost like turning a steak into white bread and equating them.

Local grown sweet corn is some of the most amazing food you'll eat. Peaches and Cream was always my favorite.

With that said, I'm not overly optimistic that it would cause any dietary changes. Said food companies have advertising budgets that are just way too big, and the average consumer is just too damned dumb.

Saw Basterds the other day and I still have Planet Terror and Machete to watch...can't wait.
