'Rock of Ages'- whos going?
Taking my beautiful wife on a long-overdue date this coming Tuesday night. We're going to see 'Rock of Ages', the new Tom Cruise flick, set in the hair-metal days of Sunset Strip, circa 1987. Cruise is apparently spot-on in his portrayal of an aging 80's rock star, and is doing his own vocal tracks(pretty well, I might add).

I'm aware that it could either be freaking cool or could suck donkey balls, so we'll just have to see. But the trailer does look pretty interesting IMO. Anyone gonna see it this weekend?

Well, that era was when I was living the whole touring/groupie/metal/makeup & big hair thing myself, and I also played the club that the movie is emulating (Bourbon Room = The Whisky), so I'm probably more interested than most in seeing a flick that could go either way, based solely on the time period it's portraying. I'll give an honest review of it on Wednesday...

I have to go see it to see if you can see me in the crowd at Club Revolution in Ft. Lauderdale. Me and some buddies dressed 80's and were in the crowd when they shot the Cruise Scene. Man, i hope they got a flash of me or something. I'll let you guys know.

Oh, the part where the guy is in front of the Hollywood sign is shot on "trash mountian" The freakin landfill mound in Ft. Lauderdale.
