Official 2012-2013 NBA Thread

Looks like James Harden has been To the Rockets for Jeremey Lamb, Kevin Martin and future picks. Plus... this is a general NBA thread.

Although I think it goes

LeBron
HUGE GAP
Durant
GAP
Debate time
There's not a huge gap between LeBron and Durant.

well you guys were trying to say LeBron is only a more willing passer because of the "system"

doesn't matter what system LeBron or Kobe are in LeBron is a better passer...shit, he's one of the best passers ever

I mean, it's not even a discussion.

King you don't honestly thing Kobe is even in the same stratosphere as LeBron at this point, do you?

At least that's debatable. I personally think LeBron is the best basketball player ever, period.

He's no MJ because MJ became superhuman in the clutchest of moments...

but in terms of just playing the game I'm pretty sure Durant can't guard 5 positions at an elite level as well as play 5 positions offensively.

At this point? Of course LeBron is better. Kobe is ****ing 34 years old has has played well over 1500 games. He's 2-3 years away from retiring.

ok good

I was just making sure you weren't a knowmo level of homer; I was concerned.

I do love Kansas City Chiefs/LA Lakers fans though! Makes a lot of sense geographically.

I can name 2 or 3 for LeBron right now, too.

I can't name any for Kobe. Maybe I'm forgetting some...I do remember one against Phoenix where he did something super badass in OT or to get the game to OT...so that's 1. I remember Artest making the biggest shot in one Finals game to win the game...and Gasol cleaning up a Kobe miss to win another. I remember Kobe went 6-24 against Boston though, that was real good. Real MJ like.
You obviously don't remember the three title runs from 2000-2002.

Game 4 against the Suns in 2006
Game 2 against Kings 1999 - shot 12/20 from floor 32 points.
Game 7 against Portland 1999 - 25/11/7 and was pivotal in coming back from 13 down in the 4th quarter
Game 4 against Pacers in NBA finals, Shaq fouled out. Kobe dominated OT and hit the game winner.
Game 3 against Sacremento 2000 W semis - 36/7/4
Game 4 to closeout Sacto 2000 W Semis - 48/16/3
Game 1 against San Antonio W. Conference finals - 45/10/3
Game 3 against Santonio 2000 W con. finals - 36/9/8
Game 5 against Philly to close out NBA title - 26/12/6
Game 1 against Orlando NBA finals 2009 - 40/7/8
Game 4 against Utah W. Conference quarterfinals - 38 points

That's just the ones I could quickly look up and I remember a majority of those clutch performances.

Saying you can't remember one clutch Kobe playoff game is hyperbole at it's finest.

So nice of you to tell people they have to root for their teams in their geographic region.

I remember a few of those now. I understand he has great postseason stat games...that's really not what I was looking for.

I was looking for clutch moment games, and I remember that Portland come back. I was looking for game winners or flu games or Jordan moments.

Not 'hey he scored 45 and they won by 20!'

The Lakers drafted the two best Mizzou players who were both KC native is one of the reasons they are liked around here.

good to see the Birdman back with an NBA team. I hope he gets a ring with the Heat and it gives me a reason to finally cheer for that team.

No, the entire package (of both players) is much better than Kobe. They did/do things that he can't both offensively and defensively. It isn't for lack of trying on Kobe's part, but people that don't see this simply don't want to.
