Buffalo is free to take a QB in 2012
There has been some speculation that Buffalo wouldn't be in the race to take one of the top 3 QB's in the 2012 draft because they just made a big investment in Fitz.
Although, they'd be out a heft signing bonus and a big salary from this year, he can be released: Good question. Mike Florio, my NBC partner, had a good note about the contract: The Bills have until the seventh day of the next league year, March 19, 2012, to exercise a clause in the contract that will activate the rest of the deal. To activate, the Bills pay him $5 million. If they don't pay, the contract is voided and the Bills owe him nothing ... but he's a free agent then. Smart move by the Bills.
Fitzpatrick was NOT worth that contract. |

He'll go to another team that is looking for a QB.
So we will have n - 1 teams needing a QB. Add to that Buffalo and we'd still be the same. |

They'll have to decide before the April draft.

The Bills don't need to take a QB. They just need to increase their commitment to building a great team.

Then again, he's been in the league long enough, they outta know what he can & can't do by now. And as was said earlier, he'll go somewhere where he can at least compete for a starting job. Either way, I don't know that this affects us much, considering I'm still not convinced we'll take a QB (God, I hope I'm wrong though). |

Can't imagine that they'll be so quick to admit that mistake.
I think he'll get at least one more year to turn it around.

Fitzmagic is, emphatically, not a $10M QB.
