We WERE playing the Colts tough UNTIL TWO BAD plays by the Special Teams. One penality (though 2 were called) negated a good run and good fieled position. Instead of a 1st and 10 at mid field late in the 3rd we were penalized all the way back inside the 15. After an expected 3 and OUT, the Colts fielded a POOR punt and were set up inside our 30. They took the lead and never looked back. It was the TURNING POINT in the game. It was a prelude of what was to come - now behind, a typical bad throw under pressure by Grbac returned for a TD. GAME OVER for all practical purposes. We tried to come back, but just had too many dropped passes. Good teams (the Colts) find a way to win and the bad ones (Chiefs) find a way to lose.

I wouldn't classify us as a "bad" team. But Indianapolis is surely a better one. STs hurt us, but we played a very close game. Manning, James, and harrison won this game. That is what we lack, the big time, clutch players. But we're not bad.

G-Man,
Good points about not having "clutch players". The major reason I rate the Chiefs as bad is because this coaching staff does not do a very good job of prepairing the team. Preseason was a WAIST offensively and no gimmick of changing the starting RB's the week before the season will work. It just makes sense that practice makes for improvement, especially when we re limited when it comes to "clutch players". Things should be close to automatic at this point, not as up in the air. Maybe I should say that UNPREPARED teams look BAD when they need to step up. Can you live with that?

Call the Chiefs' coaching staff bad and I'll agree with you. Hanging in with a SB contender until the 4th quarter (where the Grbac int sealed it) isn't the showing of a "bad" team.

G-Man,
about the best I can do is call the Chiefs coaching staff BAD. They make BAD decisions, not many adjustments - which is BAD, do not game plan well - which is BAD, do not prepare the team well - which is BAD, the team still commits wat too many panalities at the worst time - which is BAD. My point is that a team that has BAD coaching simply isn't that good. That's the best I can do.

Good call KC-Chiefs-fan-TX, I posted earlier that I thought that was the turning point in the game.
