Santschi: My Take

How does she write this crap with a straight face?

http://www.kcchiefs.com/news/article...7-946706083906

Raiders Week!

Clearly – it’s Raiders Week! This past week has been all about preparation to face the black and silver here on our own home field. The Chiefs are coming off of a much needed bye week, which gave them the chance to refuel, reset and refocus.

Head coach Romeo Crennel shuffled the lineup as he announced during a press conference at the beginning of the week that Brady Quinn will be the starting quarterback this Sunday. Crennel said he wants to change the dynamic of the team and give his players a jump start. If this does get their attention, like Crennel intends, then that just may be the jolt that shocks the Chiefs back into the win column – especially against an Oakland squad that recently has had a hard time losing at Arrowhead.

On the injury front, the Chiefs are getting healthier. The entire team has been participating in practice this week and notables Peyton Hillis, Glenn Dorsey and Steve Maneri are improving. On the flip side, the Raiders are struggling with several players limited in practice this week including stars Richard Seymour and Sebastian Janikowski.

While the Chiefs are looking for their first victory at home, the Raiders are searching for their first road win of the 2012 campaign. To say the least, this should be a hard fought battle at Arrowhead this week in front of a standing room only crowd. So my plea to Chiefs fans… there’s no better time than Sunday to make every decibel count! With Arrowhead at its loudest, a refreshed Chiefs squad coming off a bye and with a despised Raiders team coming into town, this is definitely a game that will be filled with emotion and drama.

Fast Facts
- The Chiefs have not allowed a sack in three straight games. The last time Kansas City’s offense achieved this feat was from Dec. 4-17, 2000.

- Kansas City ranks eighth in the NFL with an average of 378.7 total yards per game through seven weeks. The Chiefs are averaging 164.0 rushing yards and 214.7 passing yards per contest.

- Dwayne Bowe became the eighth player in team history to record 5,000 receiving yards in their Chiefs career. He was the quickest Chiefs player to reach 5,000 receiving yards, taking only 77 games to reach that plateau.

- Through seven weeks, the Chiefs are third in the NFL with 164.0 rushing yards per game, trailing only the Washington Redskins and San Francisco 49ers.

- Away from KC on this day… in 1886 the Statue of Liberty was dedicated, in 1919 Congress enforced prohibition and in 1962 the Cuban Missile Crisis came to an end.

Records to watch
Javier Arenas needs 116 more punt return yards to become the fourth player in Chiefs history to have at least 1,000 career punt return yards.

Dwayne Bowe has 79 career receptions of 20 yards, the third-highest total in team history. He needs three more to bypass WR Eddie Kennison (81) for second. He also has 390 career receptions to rank fifth in Chiefs history, needing two more catches to move past Chris Burford (391) for fifth.

Brandon Flowers has three interception returns for touchdowns in his career. He needs two more to pass S Lloyd Burruss (4) and tie DB Jim Kearney (5) and CB Emmitt Thomas (5) for the second-most in Chiefs history.

Tamba Hali has 24 career forced fumbles, the third-highest total in team history. He trails only LB Derrick Thomas (45) and DE Neil Smith (29) for first in Chiefs history. Think he can record at least five more?

Derrick Johnson needs one more tackle to become the sixth member of the Chiefs to reach the 800-tackle plateau. Plus, he is expected to make his 100th career start in a Chiefs uniform vs. Oakland on Sunday.

That part about the Cuban missile crisis was interesting.

The article does make me wonder who is first all time in 20-yard catches. Would it be Otis? Or would it be a modern era guy like Carlos Carson or maybe even Tony Gonzalez? I'm curious.

And also, who leads in interceptions for touchdowns? My initial guess would be Albert Lewis, but conceivably it could be Deron Cherry or Dale Carter, maybe one of those old-timers like Bobby Hunt or Bobby Ply. It wouldn't be one of the superbackers like Bell or Lanier, right?

The level of delusion coming from this franchise is almost unbelievable. I wonder if the person who wrote this even believes half the shit they're spouting.

Ahhhhh.......I was wondering why there was publicity surrounding the "Chiefs release standing room only tickets." It was a precurser to being able to say it was sold out and standing room only.

LMFAO! Amateur attempt to do a PR spin!

I doubt they actually sell many standing-room only tickets.
