Bomb Exploded at Boston Marathon Finish Line

I've heard an unconfirmed report (a co-worker's girlfriend called him) that there was a bomb at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, with people injured. I am hearing multiple sirens, though I'm not in the Copley area.

You do realize there are legitimate reasons for fear without being attacked, right?

Yeah, it probably does mean amateurish. You can cause a hell of a lot more damage than that with a small, light package if you are a terror cell or something like that.

I've already seen pics flying all over facebook for Boston ...the whole "look how much I care" game sickens me. I have seen at least 2 friends of mine who don't know 1 soul in Boston already pump out multiple posts and pics.

Be repsectful to the victims and quit feeding the media-machine.

Just my .02. Sorry if I offend anyone, that's not my intention.
I understand and empathize with the cynicism, but I think it's more a reflection of the helplessness people feel when bad things happen. I definitely feel stir crazy right now, knowing something bad happened pretty nearby and I can't do a single thing about it.

Also, it's nice to know people are thinking about you and the city you love. It's cheesy and a lot of behaviors exhibited in times of chaos are pretty shitty, but I'll forgive a useless but well-meaning and non-harmful gesture.

Kevin Smith recently recounted that, first off it's established that his parents were in home nudists, slept in the nude, watched TV, lounged around, ate meals, etc. He'd always have to warn them if friends were coming over. Funny enough in itself, but old news.

But he said his friend Scott Moser [longtime friend and collaborates on every movie] was over and they were working on editing Clerks. It got late and they went to bed, the next morning Scott woke up just as Kevin's mom was leaving the bathroom. She passed by the bedroom just as he was looking out from in bed. She noticed him, startled, and struck that very pose.

Dunno, maybe it's better when Kev tells it. Just wanted to lighten the mood.

BTW, your post was my precise reacting when I saw that photo.

I think there's some confusion on the language. Foreign terrorists can be amateurish, too.

I know there are people who are sincere in their posts but sorry as I am to say it, I think a lot of it just being done for not so sincere reasons. I mean we don't even know all the details yet and, well, it just seems like some of this stuff is done out of fad or what not and not so much true sincerity is all.

I shouldn't say insincere but rather a superficial sincerity.
