I always give my money to the casino however, I am the proverbial rabbit's foot when I go to the casino with anyone. Here are just a few documented cases.
1. I took a girlfriend there many moons ago, at her protest I might add. I was told what a waste of money casinos are, bla, bla, bla. I proceeded to get the idea of "just having a good time" into her head. Within 30 minutes she had racked up a few hundred dollars in winnings and we left with her telling me what a good idea that was. 2. I met a female coworker at the casino during the week to have lunch. This woman is tight with her money so we ate at the buffet for HOURS so she could get her money's worth. For the last hour of our meal, I did everything I could to persuade her to cut loose with a bit of cash and just go in, once, to experience a casino, as she had never done that before. FINALLY she agreed. within 20 minutes she had tripled her money and left a happy woman. 3. I took the former fiancé there a few years back. As usual, I lost my ass. She wasn't fairing too well either and was ready to leave. I said to her, "Tell ya what hon, let's go for broke and move over to the $1 slots. Hell, I'll buy." So there we sat, side by side, playing the $1 slots. She looked up at the progressive that was scrolling across the top of the machine and made some off the cuff remark about how nice it would be to hit that amount of money but added that she'd most likely be hit by lightning before anything like that would happen. I was having a better run of luck than she was at this point but being the great guy I am, every time I won, I threw the cash her way. I could see the frustration building on her face. She'd win a bit, then lose a bit more. Finally, she took all her money and put it in her bucket, turned to me and said, "OK, I'm about ready to go." Then she reached into the bucket and drew out about $10 worth of tokens and said to me, "After this is gone, don't let me spend any more because we've spent enough money as it is." I shrugged and smiled and watched her put $2 in the machine and press the button. LIGHTS FLASHED! SIRENS BLARED! BELLS RANG! PEOPLE STOPPED WHAT THEY WERE DOING AND JUST LOOKED AT HER, MOUTHS OPEN! Me, the simpleton, I was like, "WTF is all that noise about? Then I looked at her machine and realized where the noise was coming from. She had hit the progressive!!! She walked out about 2 grand richer. Yep. I'm the rabbit's foot.

You can absolutely walk away from even Vegas as a winner on a short term basis. It takes the law of averages a long time to get an adequate sample size for it to work. But work it does. For instance, you can flip a coin 20 times and come up with 14 heads and 6 tails. Bingo, you're ahead, walk away. But if you keep flipping that coin say 10,000 times, it will be very close to 50-50. So, some people do walk away winners for that particular trip like my buddy did with the 50 grand. BTW, Larry said the casino made a big production of him winning that 50K. They sent armed guards with him to the airport and rolled out a red carpet to his airplane and really played it up. And why not? They had aready lost the money so why not get the publicity of a big winner out there. The suckers love that kind of shit.

When I lived in CA my buddy and I would make a regular trip to Vegas. The most fun was jumping and hollering while repeatedly putting dollar bills into the "change" game and "winning" four quarters. (100% payout!) The security guards were not amused.
