They can ask fans to support the program all they want. But they aren't really getting much support anyway.
I dunno, it's not my team, but I wonder at which point do they decide to just be Duke... Dominant basketball and mediocre (or worse) football.
I know they can't explicitly do that, but when you have to run to the boosters one more time to ask for a multi-million dollar check, just to gamble on another coach (they won't be able to get a name guy... unless they can finally get Harbaugh to take over!), at what point do the boosters tell them no?

Never - you never do that. You tear it down and rebuild it again, as many times as it takes.

They need to fire Weis, hire some up and comer from a small time conference, and just try again. Giving Weis another year isn't going to change or prove anything. Just delaying the inevitable.
