Weis is just cleaning house. It always happens when new coaches come in. Some guys didn't want to work hard and/or get their grades up to snuff. I'm hearing that Gill let way too much of that crap slide. That explains a lot about how his teams were so bad, IMO. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe its unusual for a coach to not allow a kid to transfer for a lot of good reasons. I'll have to hear more details before I believe it is a detrimental thing to KU.

Keeston Terry wants to play at MU. He also wants to play at KU. He probably wants to play just about anywhere now.

It might not tell the whole story, but you have one 3* kid from Blue Valley (committed to Gill), a 0* kid from Miege (coached by Grunny), and no other players from Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, or Nebraska.

In other words, Weis hasn't landed a single local kid other than the 0* kid that followed Grunny.

I'm not saying its a bad strategy, but its silly to pretend that Weis took this job to turn over rocks.

One thing that drove me up the wall about Gill's teams was when they'd be losing by multiple touchdowns and celebrate when they would make a good play here and there.

I should add that Weis has signed a total of 3 Freshmen, 7 JUCOs, and 3 transfers.

He must be another one of these guys who are really hard to deal with and simply don't want to help themselves.

His offer sheet is pretty good. And now it looks like none of those team will touch him.

He actually seemed like a decent player on the field too.

What's your point? You think it looks good for the new ccoach to come in, kick a player off the team who is a local kid and a top recruit, and not let him transfer?

There are two monster programs in KC, Rockhurst and Blue Springs. Priority one for a coach at KU who wants to secure local talent should be to get in good with those programs.
