Superman/Batman movie coming in 2016

The move marks the culmination of years of effort on the part of Warner Bros. and DC Comics to bring their superheroes together in a similar fashion to their primary competitor Marvel, which successfully combined its superheroes into a $1.5-billion box-office hit with “The Avengers.”

In the comic world, the two heroes are teaming up in a new series, “Batman/Superman,” by writer Greg Pak and artist Jae Lee.

heh, so someone decided to make a documentary about the aborted Superman movie WB tried to make in the mid to late 90s with Nic Cage, Tim Burton and Kevin Smith.

I think it looks pretty interesting. I hope they get to complete the documentary. Would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see all the designs and test footage and all of that.

Yap. Would've been a disaster, they were right to pull the plug when they did, though this should be an interesting documentary. From the bits Kevin Smith has said about it in his podcast, they basically had virtually no understanding of comic books and superheroes in general and were tying his hands around his back and he had huge creator differences with what Burton wanted to do. Kevin told them they should bring on more advisers and writers from the books but the producers just shat on that because of the "comic" stigma... little did they know that Marvel would do this exact thing and completely pull the rug from under them a decade later.

I've never been a big fan of Burton's Batman.

I thought it was pretty dull and boring back in 89 and it's pure cheese now.

This is 20 minutes long but hilarious. There were a couple things in Man of Steel that I think were tied into what Kevin Smith says here. The Jon Peters mentioned produced both of the recent Superman movies.
