Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

I'm not sure how anything so far has proven that. He wasn't complete shit like their other quarterbacks, but he still only threw 7 TD to 5 INT. And of course I saw the power rankings today that had San Francisco above us which is bullshit.

Put 381 yards on Tennessee a couple weeks before Alex Smith could only muster 261.

He also did it not knowing the playbook or his coaches or his teammates.

Now, they are gonna have time to break him down and throw everything at him this season...So I would say if he puts together 5 wins in a row this season, he is the real deal and here to stay for sure...

Also, the NFC is insane with the Rams, Vikings, Green bay.....but I would not be shocked if the niners got a wild card and the chiefs didnt...

I feel like Jimmy did as much to convince me as Watson did.

Watson mostly chucked it to his outstanding wide receivers. Now he's 50 in the top 100 NFL players and I don't think I've seen one out pass. I feel like secondaries are going to adjust and then he won't have the arm strength to complete 12 yard out routes in tight windows.

I could be wrong though. I'm keeping Deandre Hopkins in my fantasy league just in case.

That's definitely a smart bet. And Watson may continue to put up eye-popping numbers.

Where I predict people will look like idiots, however, is the whole, "ICE IN HIS VEINS WHEN HE WAS IN COLLEGE = KID'S GOT IT GONNA WIN A BUNCH OF SUPER BOWLS!"

Deshaun Watson will probably go to a few playoff games before he breaks down. Maybe he'll go to a bunch of them. Maybe he won't break down from injury at all. But the narrative when he gets into the playoffs will always be, "He beat Alabama, so he can certainly beat __________," and in the NFL that's rarely a true statement. He will certainly lose a few of those, maybe all of them, and when that happens, the narrative on him is going to change even if he is a spectacular QB.

In the end, I'll take the more durable Mahomes with far more impressive potential and a REAL arm, not some slow-ass wobble launcher.

Yeah winning in college doesn't translate much. If it did Vince Young would have had a longer career than 2 years.

Who was the last college "winner" QB to have a great pro career?

I'm sure there are a few guys who won a college championship who had a great pro career, but you almost certainly likely have to go pretty far back to get to them.

Another article with a bunch of opinions from supposed " football experts ". It's amazing how these people can even keep collecting a paycheck. 3 people on Good Morning Football picked the Chiefs to finish last in the division! Obviously they're not doing their homework.

Imagine being naive enough to think the Chiefs will get worse because they let Alex Smith go for Patrick Mahomes.

Because that's literally their only reason.

The Chiefs defense has a great shot at actually being better than last year.

I'm going to be nice and say you have been fooled. Lets us start.......

Desean Watson VS. Jimmy G

Stats:

Jimmy

desean

So as not to derail the thread, Desean Watson as has ALREADY been detailed didn't just chuck the ball up. He made many different throws including out routes.

So, just know Jimmy G hasn't done shit to show anyone anything more than Watson.

Watson won't be doing anything when he shreds his knee again.

There is a veteran upgrade at each level of the defense before you even get into considering the draftees or young players improving.
Xavier Williams, Anthony Hitchens, and Eric Berry.

There's no reason to think they won't be at least marginally improved. If any of the rookies contribute, that improvement may be dramatic. Even if they don't, it should overall be an improved squad. I think it likely, however, that at least Nnadi and Speaks would be rotational players at a minimum, and clearly have some talent as opposed to JAG's.
A middle of the pack defense with this offense's capabilities should be a play-off team.

Considering he did it after he shredded it the first time.... I guess you are right/wrong.

But yes he has injury concerns.
