containment on Gannon

I keep hearing the reason the chiefs played a soft defense today was to contain Gannon's running ability. I have no problem with the front line staying in their lanes, but my gosh the linebackers played so deep they were giving the runningbacks huge gains anyhow. And as far as protecting the youth, I just can't ever remember gannon beating anyone on his pure passing ability. Next week however......
