The server pooling has been going on at least in Database area (Oracle 10G Grid) for a few years.

Parallel Mid Tier stuff as well.

Java is a maintenance language now. 12 years in.

To replace a dogma you have to have a few years of it's being used in a live enviorment. Then you have to have some Fortune 500 companies do it. See some articles in print about the money saved and viola every VP wants to save the company money and look good in the process.
