http://jacksonville.com/sports/footb...ainst-carolina By Tania Ganguli The Blaine Gabbert era is getting an early start in Jacksonville. The Jaguars will start Gabbert, the rookie they selected 10th overall, against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, sources said. NFL teams set their game plans on Tuesday and the Jaguars' is Gabbert-centric. Gabbert was a two-year starter at Missouri before last year's draft. He threw 40 touchdowns and 18 interceptions while there. He made one NFL preseason start against the New England Patriots this year. "I'm going to be ready, there's no question about that," Gabbert said Sunday when asked how he'd feel if he were made the starter for week three. "We as quarterbacks prepare harder than anybody else." The Jaguars began the season with Luke McCown as the starter. McCown struggled against the New York Jets in the Jaguars 32-3 loss. He threw four interceptions and at least two other passes that defensive players got their hands on. He didn't throw any touchdowns in his two starts. "We felt like we had a good plan for it," McCown said. "We just didn't execute and it starts with me." |
