[KC taking a QB #1] "I say absolutely no chance of that happening." -Mel Kiper

http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:8925376

Says it around 3:45

I prefer Mayock over at NFL for my mock drafts, but Kiper is smart enough and cares enough about his reputation to not make a statement like that unless he absolutely believes in it.

Sorry you feel that way. I have a very low tolerance for trolls these days, especially guys like you that have gotten away with some pitiful shit on this forum for years.

It's nothing personal, but as far as I'm concerned, you, Blackbob, and that new Jagoffs fan are all in the same boat. And since you insist on being a disrespectful asshole who never has a football opinion worth anything, I'll treat you just like I treat them.

By the way, your daughter's new boyfriend sounds like a nice, intelligent guy. It doesn't surprise me that you think he's a "pussy."

Oh he is a great kid, but it just took me a while to warm up to him... You hate me because I represent the most likely scenario you don't want to embrace... I don't think Geno will be drafted at #1 , if you do fine... I think this team has more needs than just a QB..

Chiefs did not lose to get the #1 pick like you think, they got the #1 because they were the worst team in the NFL

R8ers really wants Geno in silver and black.

You will shut up bitch, and take the third best QB like a good boy.

More needs than QB, well you don't say. An NFL team with horrific QB play on top of a coach that literally doesn't even care makes for quite a season. I'm not going to sit here and make some crazy prediction about what KC would have don't with a good QB and even an average coach. I will say that if you don't think KC has the talent to make a solid bounce-back with a new coach, QB, and CB/LB then you are using your own bias. Lets not forget that both parties here have a bias on the Chiefs.

Veldheer's a pretty great player. If Jarvis Jones, Bjoern Werner, and Damontre Moore all died in a fire, and Geno Smith and Star Lotulelei were picked by the Chiefs and Jags, you'd be outrageously insulted that people would say you should pick Joeckel, right?

I mean, you should be. He might be BPA, but he doesn't make your team any better. You're basically taking your high draft pick and punting it away.

BPA for your team SNR, if that player is available at a smaller price, you trade and acquire more picks...

I seriously don't think GENO is the pick at #1 for the Chiefs

Takes two to tango. Can't trade down if nobody wants to. BPA takes positional need and positional value into account. It has to, not doing so would be madness. There is a reason the first 5 picks last year for GB went on defense. Now yes I completely agree that Dorsey is not going to draft only on positional need but his big board is going to be affected by the team he drafts for.

You didn't answer my question. The Raiders are in a position where Lotulelei or a pass rusher makes sense. The Chiefs aren't. Also, while I still think Carson Palmer is terrible, he's not Cassel or Quinn.

I'm just trying to give you some perspective on this issue. BPA is good and all until you draft a BPA that doesn't actually HELP your team. That's the point of drafting high in the first round. It's to improve your team. Not to draft according to some religious fascination with drafting players in a vacuum.

Not in the top ten of the draft especially. Especially at LT. LT isn't like DE. People use the Giants argument with them taking DE's all the time. You don't rotate left tackles. If you have one, you don't add another. If the Chiefs resign Albert to LT money, and then rate Joeckel as the #1 player, they still aren't taking him. The Albert situation will affect their final BPA board for the Chiefs. If Dorsey was hypothetically working for 5 teams, he wouldn't just make one draft board and past it out to each team.

I haven't weighed in on who I think the Chiefs should select in this draft.
I know everyone is on pins and needles for what I think so here goes.

Get ready to fap......

Overhaul this quarterback position from top to bottom with two NFL players to begin with.

First the Chiefs sign Alex Smith, We need an experienced QB badly. Next sign Chase Daniel, he would be great for a third string QB. I think he is a make things happen type of QB and a scrambler which Reid tends to favor.

And with the first pick take Geno Smith! Have them all compete for the starter position. My take would be start Alex with the intent to have Geno start later in the season.

What do you guys think? (be merciful)

Alex Smith will only sign with a team in which he'll be the undisputed starter for at least two years. The guy will not settle as a backup, nor should he settle.
