Russ-Just thought I would put this on a post to it itself because it would get lost in the Bobby Knight post;

You mentioned in the post that Columbine couldn't have happened 20 (?) years ago. Actually I have done some research on the subject, I don't have the specifics here handy (the paper is in my office) but the fact of the matter is; school violence has been on the decline in the last 20 years.

Here is the real kicker, the worst case of school violence occured in Bath, MI sometime in the 1950's. Nearly fifty people were killed. Why haven't you heard more about this? That's easy, the perp DID NOT use a firearm. I believe it was a homemade bomb.

BTW - Thanks for the digging on the subject.

It is easier to set off a bomb or series thereof, instead of shooting several students.

1 button versus several trigger pulls.
