But liberals still love him because he pisses off conservatards. And you need a warrior in times like these, not a saint.

Oh wait - no they don't. Because liberals actually hold their politicians accountable to some baseline standards.

Both sides are exactly the same though mannnnn

The DNC side value power above all else. They're willing to jettison the likes of Avenatti and Franken because they haven't actually accomplished anything, or are easily replaceable. OTOH, they cling to the presumed virtue of the likes the both Clintons, Wasserman-Schultz and Ellison. And they held onto Weiner until his literal weiner was clearly and unequivocally circulating the internet destined for underaged girls.

Dems love nothing more than a Republican with the grace to lose and hate nothing more than a troublesome Dem who can't grant them power.

Of course, their preferred mechanism for retaining power is to expose the peccadilloes of the opposition while shielding their own [see every Dem exec of the 20th-21st century]. We'll have to see how that mechanism survives going forward.

I'm honest enough to admit, the Dems will sublimate their affection for scoundrels to the greater interest of a solid powerful Federal state in Democrat control. I'll also admit, given the Hobbsian choice between a virtuous Federal leader in charge of every aspect of our lives and a scoundrel who will leave us alone, I'll still choose the scoundrel.
