Chiefs' Matt Cassel Goes On NFL Network
http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2011/1...work#storyjump
Kansas City Chiefs QB Matt Cassel was on Around The League with Fran Charles on NFL Network yesterday talking about the 2-3 Chiefs. Nothing earth shattering in the interview as the usual stuff was hit on: questions about the win at Indy, Dwayne Bowe's play and, of course, the "argument" with Todd Haley (or, as I like to call it, the story that will never die). Cassel also claims he's undefeated in bags, the game they play in the locker room. Below are some highlights of what he said. View the video here. Star-divide On the comeback win at Indy: "It was something that, since I've been here, we haven't responded the way that we did, and to come back from a 17-point deficit, and to continue to grind and overcome the adversity, and walk out of Indy with a win, it was big for this time." On Dwayne Bowe: "I trust him and we also have other guys making plays as well. Steve Breaston's come in and complemented Dwayne really well this year. It's great to have that tandem." On the slow start: "We were trying to find the reasons for why we didn't start the way we didn't want to. Going into the season, we thought we were ready to go and it just didn't work out." More on the slow start: "One of the main problems early on were turnovers. We were able to eliminate turnovers and you see the result, we're in every game." On the injuries: "That's the same way that I got my start when Tom Brady went down and things went the way that it did. Nobody gave us a chance in New England and I was able to step up and prove myself." On the bags game: "I'm pretty good, I'm not gonna lie. I haven't lost yet. I keep giving the receivers chances, letting them get up early, and then I come back and dominate." |

cornhole
The game was invented in the Midwest. A small burlap bag is filled with hard feed corn. The object is to get the corn-filled bag into the hole. Thus you get cornhole.
And I'm sure whoever came up with the name was laughing his ass off at the time. |

I wish we could re settle cassels contract after this season and keep him as a backup, there are far worse backups and cassel actually knows the offense, but then again dink and dunk isnt hard to grasp

If you're thinking about firing him if he loses to the Colts, you should probably just go ahead and fire him.

Not a defense of Herm in the least.

I'm kinda lost where this season is headed. If we get a new coach what are we to expect? Who's gonna be retained? I kinda don't want it to happen because I feel the whole system to gain trust in the locker room, build the roster, will take another 5 years.

If Haley can't win, throw him in the gutter and go find another. A good coach doesn't take five years to win. What does Crennel really add to this coaching staff? What does anyone really add to this coaching staff?
Haley appears to be a good WR coach that was Peter Principled up to HC thanks to Kurt Warner, Fitzgerald, and Boldin. I'm sure he'd make an excellent WR coach somewhere else, but aside from that, I don't see a whole lot of keepers here.

Does it matter? This team is not infused with winning talent that can win in the playoffs. If you can't win in the playoffs, why not start over again?? Do you enjoy 7-9 in perpetuity?

well if Haley is fired now then we're looking at maybe one more win this year. I don't think Haley is the problem. Its Cassel and he's Pioli's bitch who Haley can't dump. Who's the coach to pick? Its scraps. Nobody that would make a bigger difference than what Haley is doing already with Cassel at QB. One thing I don't like about Haley is he's a bridge burning mother****er.

EVERYTHING goes back to the trade for Cassel
EVERYTHING Its not just coincidence that when the team is winning, Cassel is playing like a slightly above average player and when we lose...he looks like what might possibly be the worst quarterback in the whole NFL. To Pioli: MAN THE **** UP AND ADMIT YOU MADE A MISTAKE ON THAT MOVE AND RECTIFY IT RATHER THAN FIRING THE HEAD COACH THAT HAS THE REST OF THE TEAM PLAYING VERY HARD FOR HIM AND IS HANDCUFFED TO A MISTAKE OF YOURS. THATS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IF YOU WANT TO FILL THOSE SEATS, PLAYA. |
