****Official 2013-14 Missouri Tiger Football Repository Thread****

We have two things to look forward to this year:

1) The potential beginning of the Maty Mauk Era. Mauk represents the best chance for this program to get back to a level of respectability after horrendous QB play cost us multiple games last year.

2) The last year of the Gary Pinkel era. Pinkel's entrenched cronyism won't play in a conference this competitive, especially if he couples his abysmal gameday coaching with lackadaisical, worst-in-conference recruiting. Pinkel was the formerly adequate meal that has now turned into a four pound bowel obstruction. It's time to jam a Fleet's enema up our collective asses.

Here is the schedule. We dodge Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas in the west and the Non-con is decidedly weaker than years past.

8/31: Murray State
9/7: Toledo
9/21: @ Indiana
9/28: Arkansas State
10/5:@ Vanderbilt
10/12: @ Georgia
10/19:Florida
10/26: South Carolina
11/2:Tennessee
11/9: @ Kentucky
11/23: @ Ole Miss
11/30: aTm

Looks like 6-6. Undefeated in non-con, 2-6 in league play.

I will eventually update the OP with a list of high profile in-state recruits that decide to go elsewhere after a half-assed attempt to gain their services. The inevitable cavalcade of *** rejects, skeezers, skanks, and scalliwags we get will fill out the ranks.

Razors, cyanide capsules, and Jonestown Kool-Aid are available in the break room. Second door on the left.

Since every Mizzou thread eventually dies of AIDS, I recommend starting anti-retroviral therapy immediately. I believe Walgreens covers Express Scripts.

Premium In-State Players:

Roderick Johnson: **** OT, Florissant, MO.
Monte Harrison: **** WR, Lee's Summit, MO.
Jimmy Swain: **** LB, Lee's Summit, MO

Commitment List: From to and possibly

Spoiler!

I saw one of Gabe's tweets earlier that said the Cotton Bowl is "obligated" to take the loser of the SEC CCG.....but every site I look at has MU losing to Auburn and dropping to the Capital One Bowl not the Cotton Bowl. Most keep pointing toward the Cotton Bowl taking LSU or aTm with Johnny Football putting butts in the seats. Then put Baylor in the mix (with Okie Lite taking the BCS spot) and the Cotton Bowl is guaranteeing SRO for that game.

If that is true...it kinda sucks IMO.

The pecking order is
CapOne
Outback/Cotton

The Cotton is obligated to take them if they fall that far so if the CapOne takes the loser it's a moot point. The Cotton & Outback make their picks in tandem.

The CapOne would be the best bowl out of those options pitting the top SEC team not in the BCS against the top non BCS team from the Big Ten. It would be a great slot.

I believe the Capital One Bowl is higher the pecking order than the Cotton Bowl and has a bigger payout.

The Cotton almost always takes the top available team from the West.

So if the CapOne passes on us for A&M (Manziel's last college game), I could see LSU in the Cotton, Mizzou in the Outback Bowl. Playing a bowl in Tampa wouldn't be the worst thing; good exposure to high-level recruits. It's also against a Big 10 opponent, IIRC, who we should piss-pound (thus further separating the SEC from the B1G and help in midwest recruiting).

But I doubt I'll go if it's in Tampa. I'd probably go to the Cotton Bowl, just to see the Jerry Dome.

National Championship notwithstanding, I would hope for the CapOne bowl. Easy for me to make the trip over to Orlando.

I just hope we don't get bumped in the pecking order by South Carolina. That would really suck.

But if we lose, it will probably happen.

It will take me a few weeks to get interested if we lose Sat. Next to the Big 12 Title game in '07 it's the biggest game we've played in my life. Opportunities like this don't come often for MU.

It's worked out that way in the past but it's not a fait accompli. Probably the CapOne takes South Carolina. LSU to the Outback & us to the Cotton is my guess. aTm has the 7th best league record. They aren't going to the CapOne, that's too many teams for them to jump. I would guess they are headed to the Chicfile while GA falls to the Gator due in part to Murray being on ice.

ok...that explains it....then I am cool with MU taking the CapOne Bowl.

For some reason I thought the Cotton Bowl was higher in the pecking order. I could see the Cotton wanting Johnny Football for his swan song game.

What I don't see is SC bypassing us if we lose unless we get completely blown out by Auburn.

Oh I could see that. In fact I think it will happen if we lose and we will end up in the Cotton. SC travels much better than MU.
