I understand that it's the World Series and that Boston was on the losing end (which is why this becomes a story), but that was so obviously obstruction that any Little League umpire would have seen that. Craig scores easily if he doesn't trip over Middlebrooks, who made no effort to get out of the way.

Indeed. It's become apparent to me over the last two hours that a lot of baseball fans don't know much about the rules of baseball. There's no debate here.

not that intent matters but don't try to tell me he didn't lift his legs to try and trip the runner.
Congrats Cards. Could you make the next 2 wins a little less dramatic? These games are hard on my pops.

There were two 30-ish guys behind me at the game tonight, one a SC fan, the other a Mizzou fan, that I had to describe the rules of college overtime to. Fans of all sports generally know jackshit about the rules.

I'm fine.

I was locked out of my house for over an hour and thus missed the end of the Cardinals game (thanks wife, for locking all the doors as you left but not taking a key with you!!) live, even though I was following it by phone and radio.

To be honest, I would have been fine with not going to the Mizzou game. The Cardinals are more important to me than Missouri will ever be. The Cardinals do things to earn your fandom. They step up. They make wise decisions. They win.

Missouri will always fail because that's who they are. Am I upset? Yeah, but it's the laughing, head-shaking type of upset. When the Red Sox tied it in the 8th on a bunch of weak ass slap hits I was pissed the **** off.

I knew Missouri was losing that game as soon as it was 17-7 because they're Missouri and that's what they do. It doesn't matter if the coach is Norm Stewart, Frank Haith, Larry Smith, Gary Pinkel, or Jesus H Christ, that team will always **** up. It's in the bones of the University. They don't have great fan support, but to be honest, they don't deserve the support they have. They consistently shit on their fans and invent new ways to choke, lose, screw their fans over and get screwed over themselves.

This obstruction call is crazy. I saw a guy on another board suggest it was Craig's fault because he chose to go home.
