Iron Man 3

From some talk in other threads it looks like Iron Man 3 is getting some traction. Hopefully it lives up to the hype.

Yeah, I was reading too much into a possible hint of something that is to come with the next Avengers or IM movies.

It was an entertaining abomination of the Iron Man comic book lineage. I still cannot believe what they did to Mandarin. I keep waiting for something like a Mandarin clone, where the real Mandarin was actually behind the scenes, and not a ****ing pathetic stoner Dude Abides moron sipping on a Budweiser..

The story was disjointed. Seemed like 3 totally different parts, all mashed together uncomfortably. The middle part was a mess. They had some really great fight scenes. With some really brilliant and creative uses of the Iron Man armor in the fights. But it almost felt like they were forcing the issue of having the stars out of their armor as much as possible. Which rubbed me the wrong way for some reason.

And the ending..

Spoiler!

I agree with those saying he was a waste of a character. They could have put any regular bad guy into that roll and it would have worked out just the same. It would be like discovering the Joker was a puppet of Harvey Dent the entire movie. Just doesn't make sense.

I loved his character up to the point he was shown as nothing more than a drunk/high actor playing a part.

Overall, movie had some cool spots & some blah spots. Decent enough, but nothing to jump up & down about.

They couldn't pull that off because Manderin isn't nearly as iconic a character as Joker. Joker transcends the comic book geek world. Manderin does not.

just saw Iron Man 3 today

wasn't terrible but was too 'slap schtick' for my taste. Robert Downey Jr. seems to like to add a jackie chan funny-fight style to his movies but imo he went to far this time. Maybe it's just because i used to read the Iron Man comics and didn't like that ...
Spoiler!
