Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

two kinds of safety (hence double down term) have been compromised by Target: credit card safety (affecting your credit score and/or identity) and personal physical safety within the store.

true but don't you need a special type of pistol to fire the +P or the ++P, that is, you need a steel frame pistol to handle the force? Can a standard Glock handle the +P or ++P ammo?

What's wrong with just going with the .40S&W?

Nothing. .40 packs a nice punch.

Or they could beef up the FS92 and keep things familiar.

They charged $36 for 4 cans.

You can add items to your cart, enter your state and zip code, and it will estimate shipping costs for you.

That's funny when the tests were being run at APG the Beretta 92 was clearly the most durable pistol, typically they would go past 30k rounds before failure.
All the others Colt, Smith, Sig, H&K started showing wear at 10K and most failed catastrophically by 15k, IIRC.

It's not the pistol it's the caliber. Since all the NATO members used a 9mm std. we felt that we should standardize on it also. It was a mistake IMO.
By the way I'm a fan of the Beretta 92 I own a couple of them They are darn good weapons.

I love that Beretta 92 pistol also, just a solid pistol. I'm not sure if they can do what Glock does and just tweak it for a larger cartridge and bullet. However, I'm pretty sure you can run +P ammo through it as is.

I just read an article about what Target is doing with their new policy. Apparently a loaded pistol was left in the toy section of one of the Target stores and that freaked out some women/moms who put pressure on Target to ask people to not "open" carry in Target stores.

I mean, it's stupid, idiotic mistakes like this (leaving your loaded pistol behind in a the kid's section of the store) that makes all gun owners look like complete tards. Blame this on the moron gun owner... seriously, that would piss me off too.

As far as I can see, Target is saying nothing about conceal carry, just open carry.

I believe Glocks can take +P, but no higher.

To me, I don't understand the compromise of .40 over .45. If you're talking about personal defense then why wouldn't you choose the largest round you can shoot effectively? If you are more concerned about recoil and magazine capacity, why not just use 9mm with a premium load or whatever?

I would wonder if that incident really happened, or if it was a plant.

They already have check out models 94 and 96.

On the Target controversy I agree with Cochise on this, was it an actual incident or contrived to make bad press? Have to wait and see I guess.
