Geno Smith fans roll call

NEW THREAD HEADER (11/17/12):

The list is gone. We will all be Geno Smith fans when he gets drafted by the Chiefs. For historical documentation's sake, I'll keep the list in a separate post on this thread: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=3314

WHY GENO SMITH?
If you're wondering if Geno Smith is right for you, check out this brilliant post by Saccopoo:

http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=5388

Next, we have a few GIFs you may be interested in from the Oklahoma game. Insane potential. These are the elite throws that very few QBs can make. What more can I say? Geno Smith can be a franchise QB in the NFL, and the Chiefs need to take a shot on him.

GIF #1:
Spoiler!

GIF #2:
Spoiler!

GIF #3 (My favorite):
Spoiler!

HOW DO WE GET HIM HERE?

Glad you asked. I posted this checklist earlier. It probably belongs in the thread header, and will be updated as the Chiefs close out their season and start a new chapter in their franchise story.

Preparing for Geno Smith's Arrival In KC Checklist

1. [X] Lose games and acquire the #1 overall pick
2. [X] Get Pioli and the Patriot Way cronies the **** out
3. [X] Hire new GM/coach

OPTIONAL (but highly recommended):
4. [ ] Re-sign/tag Bowe, who really wants to play in KC with Geno
5. [ ] Re-sign/tag Albert

I didn't realize RG's leg was the reason why he was sitting in the pocket forever and taking sacks instead of throwing the ball away. Didn't realize his leg was the reason he made stupid decisions throwing the ball.
Didn't realize RG's leg was the reason that he looked like a deer in the headlights when Seattle's defense took away his hot read.

Got it.

I dont' care what their major's are i care about their football IQ.

one article on barkley
Quote:
Plan for success: Barkley certainly is not a blue-chip talent based on his physical tools, but he has the capacity to develop into a franchise player, thanks to his exceptional anticipation, awareness and football IQ. Barkley is successful because he understands how to win the pre-snap phase of the game, and he gets the ball out of his hands quickly. From a schematic standpoint, Barkley lacks the big arm to play in a vertical passing game, but he is a superb game manager capable of stringing together completions on short and intermediate throws. Coaches who employ versions of the West Coast offense will appreciate Barkley's skill and willingly fit him into an offense that favors "dink and dunk" over the long ball. A team located in an area where weather could play a factor late in the year would likely harbor concerns about Barkley's arm strength. A franchise in a mild or warm climate would put Barkley in the best environment to succeed.

Because he's ran the spread all year, based on the option. Didn't realize Geno did that.

Ryan Fitzpatrick went to ****ing Harvard and is probably the smartest QB in the entire league outside of football, but yet he has a low football IQ and has serious trouble reading defense's.

The reason he struggled in the pocket is that he was more limited as a passer because he couldn't drive through the ball with a bum knee.

Seattle was taking the short passing game away as soon as they saw his inability to get anything on the ball.

Of course it was. He couldn't do what he normally does, the sort of stuff that keeps him safe (relatively) from some of the biggest strongest fastest men on earth, all of whom were coming to get him. It's not a complex situation.

Regardless, as geno is not a one read spread qb, your point isn't valid. He goes through his progressions when he isn't immediately harassed due to his inept o-line play. He rarely throws interceptions, and many I've seen from him are the result of receivers not being able to handle his throws.

Got it?

God number 3 GIF made me cry. The ball placement made me wana yell **** YA welcome to KC! Re-sign Bowe, Albert and our oline is set except for LG (Get allen some competition or a replacement), trade for Jeremy Maclin. Go with Bowe, Breaston (who can be good in Reids system with his route running and timing offense), Maclin and ugh either Baldwin or DMC who Reid is supposed to of wanted draft day. Add another good RB like my guy Montee Ball from Wisconsin and a power runner also for short yardage

Other than the fact that Griffin depends on his legs, I'd say there is less a difference between Geno and RG3 than you think.

He doesn't depend on his legs. He's a very good passer. But when you can't plant your leg to pass...

This is the only board where Geno is considered to be the undisputed #1pick and phenomenal prospect.
