You getting a player of that quality in the 3rd?

So nice to see some positivity and joy on Doomplanet. It's been so long...

Even after we locked up the top pick, people were depressed because Pioli wasn't gone.

Can't wait for the "chiefs WILL pick a QB first overall" rumors to hit twitter after the combine. Every month better than the last from here in out!

I don't think there is a prayer of Matt Cassel sticking on this roster. When Pioli goes, he's going too.

This. Cassel has proven himself as a ****ing failure. There is no need for him to be on this team next year.....even as a 3rd string QB.

I haven't been this excited about the Chiefs since we signed Bobby Sippio.

It was the smart thing to do. Pioli had to discuss the entire roster with Reid.

He's basically made it as uncomfortable on Pioli as he could.
So I take it it didn't fit very well?

I would think he'd be worth a 2nd, but the Chiefs 2nd is way too valuable.

They may just want to ride with him. Remember, they have a new QB and coach coming in as well. While they may not be able to re-sign him, they still need to have some weapons for Foles (or whoever) and the incoming HC.

They may just get their year out of him, let him walk and take a 4th rounder as a comp pick. Isn't it worth keeping him for the extra year if all it costs you is a round or so in the draft pick?

Which once you get over the initial disbelief and anger of him not being fired on the spot is actually better than the immediate firing. In a vindictive scorned lover sort of way.

I'd give up the Chiefs 3rd in a heartbeat and then have a nice little Tigergasm.

He's been in the league for 4 years and is still only 24 years old. If you make a move for Maclin and re-sign Bowe, you have your WR corps locked down for the next 3-5 years and you have a pretty damn good one at that.

I don't think you can get Maclin for a 3rd, though.
Yeah, I definitely wasn't aware he was still that young; I figured he had to be at least 26 by now.

I could give up a 3rd for him, although I think the second pick of the 2nd round is a bit too steep..
