Anyone gonna pick up Tiger Woods 08???

I havent had a golf game since Outlaw Golf back when the Xbox first came out.

I think I'm going to buy the new Tiger Woods 08 for Xbox...Its just too bad that you cant play online tournaments in that game...

05 had the most predictable ball physics, and certainly the most consistant. 06 and 07 have some of the crappiest ball physics of any golf game I have ever played. In 06, I have hit shots out of buried lies in the bunker that were hit like they were in the fairway, or lies that are in the light rough, but fly like they were buried in the sand. There is never any rhyme or reason, either.

Although, I may be biased. In 05 I did shoot a 39 once.

I was #2 in the nation on XBOX Live in 2005...

I was addicted...

And then they tried to make things "realistic" in 2006 with the 'total putt control' which was lame and made me stick with 2005.

I was a tour mode pro on 2005, would read my puts with the chipping grid...almost impossible to beat on tour mode.

I was ok in regular, but anyone can putt with a caddy tip.

P.S. I downloaded 08 for the PC and it's really, really, really gay compared to console version...so I deleted it.

I have not like Tiger Woods since 05 either.. It went from easy to learn hard to master in 05 to a pain in the ass from there on out..

Seriously we would play the shit out of 05 while we were drinking.. 07 you had to be sober and trying your damnest to do decent at...

Nice round. I have '05... it's the most recent golf game I have. Bought it about a year ago, play it all the time anymore. So much stuff to master, it takes forever. I want to cover everything in this game before I even try '06 or '07, although everything I read seems to say they aren't as good.

I actually just finished my first season today, that takes forever. A couple weeks ago I shot a 41 on Coeur D'Alene in a tournament, best round I've probably ever played in any of the Tiger Woods games, even going back to PS1. Sad thing is, it could've been a 38. I lipped out a putt on 2, missed a hole-in-one by literally inches on 6, and then on either 7 or 8... I missed the hole by inches from the fairway. Still shot a 41.

This is the major problem I've had with the TW series. Despite its cartoony graphics and fantastical courses, I much prefer the Hot Shots Golf series to TW because of the ball physics.

I have TW08 coming to me through Gamefly to tide me over until Halo 3 drops, but the day it shipped MS put up the 3 hole demo on the marketplace. I hoped EA had made it a bit more realistic, but instead found myself going eagle, birdie, birdie, with all three ending with a chip in.

Zooted...

Swear to God, just stick with Tiger 2005...

Only golf game you'll ever need...besides, it's not like Madden or NBA Live where player ratings change from year to year, once you get your guy to all 110's it's the same friggin' thing.

I sold my XBOX recently and ended my long-term relationship with Tiger 05, but seriously, that's the only golf game I'll ever play until EA can prove to me they can release a better version of Tiger...

Like I said, I spent about 10 minutes on 08 PC version before I deleted it in disgust.

Thank god for torrents.
