Resources for Personal Development
I've really tried to invest in personal development over the last couple years of stepping into a leadership position and wondered what resources (Books/Websites/Podcasts/Other) you all use for personal development. And maybe as people share things, I can add them to the OP.
Podcasts: EntreLeadership Podcast Tim Ferriss Podcast Jocko Willink Podcast Books: The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg Grit by Angela Duckworth Never Go Back by Dr. Henry Cloud 12 Rules for Life by Dr. Jordan Peterson 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Covey The Lean Startup by Eric Ries The Subtle Art of Not Giving a **** by Manson How Successful People Lead by Maxwell The 21 IRREFUABLE LAWS OF LEADERSHIP By John Maxwell The Slight Edge by Olson Competing on Analytics: The New Science of Winning (Davenport, T. and Harris, J.) "Linchpin" by Seth Godin is a great one - all of Godin's work is phenomenal.

I’m a natural born leader so I don’t need to read about it.

Tribes, Purple Cow and The Dip are all top notch too. Add Steven Pressfields War of Art and Turning Pro. (Middle book in series is by Godin, Do The Work) |

As a pastor, you might not like a lot of Tim Ferris's material, but he's pretty tapped into the whole maximizing human potential movement. He has tons of guests on his show and tries to tap into the habits of success they employ.
His podcast has really gone down hill, imo, in the last year or so as he's been altering the format up some. The first 100 or so episodes are awesome, though. One of his frequent guests is Jocko Willink, who also has a podcast. His book Extreme Ownership is a good organizational leadership book that my team read. If you're leading times, the 5 Dysfunctions of Team is good as well.

I think Personal Development falls into multiple subcategories.
1. Motivation: help you overcome obstacles and failure to persevere in spite of overwhelming odds. 2. Selling: People are ALWAYS selling, if not a product than yourself and many of these help you understand others body language, how to negotiate and present the best image possible. 3. Building Your Independence: Most of these focus on financial basics on teaching you things you may not have known and why it's so important 4. Spiritual: Why life balance, having a compassionate side and giving back is so important. Things like donating your time and how helping others comes back to you.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the quintessential Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People" self help book.
The history of the book is wild. Written ? 1923. As a Pastor, this fits to a "T", for all other people as well. Easy to read and re-read. |

Getting yourself or getting demonpenz to do things I don't want to do on time and complete tasks I want to find a great dude, attract a woman, get ripped, and be financially free. I want to grow and expand. That is why I will work today.
