K C Bar B Que Tour!
I thought this would be great for all the out of towners coming in for Chief's games this year. You get to sample several different Bar B Que joints, plus see a lot of the KC area including some important landmarks.

Danny Edwards is legit They're only open for lunch, no dinner. Bryant's is KC BBQ from a historical perspective. Their ribs are wonderful, very similar to what you get at Joe's. Gates has good and bad days. The new store on US 40 near Arrowhead is very nice. Still the best brisket sandwich in the city, and their sauce is what KC BBQ tastes like. LC's is the classic grease pit hole in the wall. It's legit too. There's many wonderful BBQ places that you can't hit them all in one day. Rosedale, Smokestack, Zarda's, Lil BBQ Joint in Independence, Slap's, Snead's, Hayward's, Big T's...list goes on and on and on. My advice to the bus travelers...leave some room, you'll get full fast. Carry wet naps.

Moved my kid to KC a few weeks ago and went to Q39 because of all the rave. 45 minute wait, left and went to Gates on Main and it was as good as ever! Great BBQ and no wait unlike the trendy place. I’ll try Q39, but not on Friday night.

Gates isn't terrible. There's just lots of other places that do it much better at the same/lower price. I'm a little miffed Gates raised the price of their meat on bun meal last year. Over $10 for a sandwich and fries now. It's not worth that when I can go to Joe's and get a Rocketpig/ZMan and fries for the same price but infinitely better quality.

So you are visiting from out of town and do not have transportation to get around but want to sample KC Bar B Q. How much would an Uber be to get you around to 4 different places, plus the food- plus it is a Tour- they tell you about KC.

You can sit in your hotel and order Uber eats from Gates- and save money- but that is not a Tour of KC.

Well, that is your opinion. I have never had a bad meal there. I am partial to the Gates sauce too, I love the spicy zing to it.

I use Gates sauce when we tailgate. Ollie Gates used to walk around the parking lot handing out $20.00 bills to people using his brand. Heck of a nice guy.
