They're not set in stone, sorry I haevn't got back to you guys sooner.
Now, moving on to the suggestions made. (1) Negative points given to a QB --- Don't forget that you get a +1 for every 10 COMPLETIONS. That way, say your QB goes 20/30, you get +2 and -1, therefore giving you +1 for the performance. I was thinking it made sense to reward a QB like that for having a better completion percentage. (2) QBs TD passes worth 6 points --- This is a rule I am VERY against changing. There are way too many QBs who pass for more than 20 TDs and it makes the overall goal way too easy and uncompetitive. One of the big things in fantasy football is finding the QB who will throw 30 or more TDs or the RB/WR who will find the endzone 15 or more times. Giving QBs 6 points for a TD pass will just screw everything up. 4 points imo is perfect. (3) All FGs worth 3 points --- Not really on board with this suggestion either. I think it's smarter and more rewarding as it is -- +2 for 0-39yd FGs, +3 for 40-39yd FGs, +4 for 50+yd FGs. That rewards good kicking. I also think that -1 for missing PATs is a good scoring rule. I mean, come on, MISS a point after? You should be penalized. I agree that it may be a good idea to completely take out negative scoring for kickers on field goals. (4) All defensive/ST TDs worth 6 points --- Not much discussion needed here from my point of view - I am on board with this call. It seems like a good idea. D/ST touchdowns are hardly frequent occurences and should be rewarded better for when they do occur. (5) Tiebreakers --- Absolutely. I'm going to change that right now without even voting. I don't know why it was never set to a tiebreaker in the first place. (6) Bonus points for "big games" --- I'm cool with giving a HIGHER point total to 200+ yard rush games and 400+ yard passing games. But I don't like the idea of rewarding 100+ yard games. They're way too frequent. As you can see, long TD runs/passes are already rewarded as well as 200/400+ yard games. (7) Points per reception/carry --- Definitely not with carries, IMO. I don't like that rule at all. As for points per reception, I'm just not sure about it. I do like the idea but it can begin to reward stuff too easily. A receivers points should come from his touchdowns (6), yards (1 for 10) and THEN receptions. Perhaps 1 point for every 2 or even 3 receptions? I'd be happy with that.
