The Chiefs Defense The Last Two Games

Have allowed an avg. of 236.5 per game and 17 points per game. Knowing the history of our D I've gotta give Gun and the boys a couple games leway to be de-GRobbugged. The numbers for the last two games are top 5 and top 10 numbers respectively. Two games is to small a sampling I believe but if this becomes a trend this team will go on a tear.

I'm going to take a seat on the bandwagon. Up in the cheapseats. Free Beer and chips section.

I have really liked what I have seen on both sides of the ball the last two weeks. Especially the D side.

The defense has played well, but has also played two somewhat below average QBs. It will be interesting to see how they do against Leftwich who is slowly improving and then Vick and Manning.

Exactly what I was thinking. If we bite on the misdirection like we did against Denver, Vick will have a career day. I'm on the wait and see bandwagon, but I do like what I've seen the last two games.

Can I have the drivers seat on the defensive bandwagon?

Before and after each game this season I have been saying that this defense will be top 10-15 during the last half of the season. And that our problems were of offense.

(hoping I can keep tooting my horn all season long)

I think Gun's attitude is finding its way through the entire lockeroom.

Yup, the offense showed it last night too. I noticed that there was a lot of pushing and shoving and jawing by the Ravens defense after each play as if they thought they could intimidate our "finesse" offense. I think they learned otherwise as the game wore on. Isn't that correct, Ray Ray?

IMO, the Jacksonville game will be an excellent test to see if our offense will be a one game wonder or if it is truly BACK. BUT, Atlanta is winning because they are playing well in every facet of the game right now and getting a bit lucky too. Indy will basically be our best measuring stick to see how far our D has come since last years playoffs. Things are looking up.

Meaning, if we force a punt we've improved.

I'm not holding out hope we're gonna throttle Indy. Our offense better be stoked, because we're gonna have to win another shootout. I just hope we can stop them a couple of times this time.

I would hope to see the same effort against Jax as we saw against Balt.

And to the opposing QB. How many times was Carr rushed? How many times was Boller sacked? (4). A definite difference from last year when we averaged 2.2 sacks a game.

Carr is the 5th rated QB in the AFC with a 91.? rating. I don't think that's below AVG. I do agree with your point though. There are still some big test's to pass and staying home on the misdirection will be part of that. Vick is another story all together. Still I see massive improvement.

This isn't really a defensive stat but another major factor of the last 2 games is that our average TOP was 37:25, compared to last year when it averaged 29:23. Defense has been kept off the field longer, which if that keeps up hopefully we'll see a decrease in giving away the game in the 4th quarter.
