TOM HARKIN.......YOUR NEXT

Daschle went down in a ball flames as did KERRY and his 60's legacy.

Iowa's Senator Tom Harkin is next. I would have loved to have been sitting beside that peice of crap last night and this morning watching the Iowa numbers come in while Daschles numbers kept getting WORSE and WORSE.

Tom Harkin is next.

My wife is a Democrat and has worked for the Harkin campaign before...

She said that to me this morning when she saw Daschle lost...

Harkin is sweating bulletts right now as we speak. I can't wait to hear that SOB on all of his radio interviews.

It's up to Harkin if he's next or not. Iowa is definitely more liberal then South Dakota. All Harkin has to do is play it somewhat moderate and he'll retire as a senator.

Daschle stuck his neck out way too far in a conservative state. There's a big difference.

Bull Shit

Harkin is safe

Iowa Does not have a guy like Thune to run against him. Our best bet in 2008 would be Steve King? Bill Sailer? Chuck Larson?

I don't think we (Republicans) have anyone who could knock him off. Plus if he retires, I'm sure Vilsack would run and win.

Harkins record is as bad or worse that Daschle's...I've got to beleave Iowa has some one capable of equalling what Thune accomplished.
The state senator down here in southern Iowa is pretty sharp.
His last name is McKinley. At one time he ran his own advertising/marketing company i beleave. I think Hy-Vee was one of his MAJOR customers....He's a sharp individual. I've heard him speak several times. He's a much more congenial man than harkin. Harkin reminds me of the DNC guy, Tad Devine. I can't beleave the DUHMS
ever let him go on the TV with that scowly facial attitude.

I've never understood how he stays in DC. He runs as a conservative when he comes back to Iowa and people eat it up. Then he goes back and represents what he thinks is the peoples republic of Iowa. I can't stand him, he wouldn't bother me so much if he said what he did, but he's 2 faced. (not long faced.) Here's to HARKIN'S NEXT!

Hint: Senators have long records with which to negatively define them for a campaign.

If someone were to challenge Harkin they would have to over come some major things.

1. Name ID - Everyone in Iowa Knows who Tom Harkin is.
2. Money - Harkin will have 6 million plus to run his campaign, there are not many people in Iowa who could raise 6 million bucks for a campaign. Heck, I'll list them for you (Doug Gross and Jim Nussle) and they will be running for Governor.

The best person who could run against Harkin would be Congressman Steve King. Now there is no way King could raise 6 mil, but I think he could raise 2 million, and he would out work Harkin.

Trust me, there are few state legislators who could run a statewide campaign and raise the money it would take to win. The only one I can think of would be Chuck Larson, and he is in Iraq.

Harkin is not safe.

Iowa is more liberal than SD, that is true.

However, Iowa, as a rural state, has every bit as much contempt for guys who become deeply entrenched in being a politician and FORGET WHERE THEY CAME FROM.
