Listening to any new good music these days?

What is some good music you folks are spending time with.

I have come to appreciate Fountains Of Wayne. I heard all of the hype about the Insterstate Manager album and never got into it. Now I have. They are very very good.

I am listening to a lot of good Death Cab For Cutie work. I am kind of going in reverse order because I listened to Postal Service first and THEN got into Death Cab.

I really like all of these albums using the Jay Z acapella album. In addition to the Beatles one there is a new Weezer\JayZ mix that is pretty good.

Athlete
Electralane
Kenna
New Strokes stuff...

What are you listening to?

Um, beyond that... I play CD's. Past week or so I was listening to the Blues Brothers soundtrack. Couple days a go swapped it out for Bloodhound Gang "Hooray for Boobies".

Oh, and I like to catch some of "Loveline" from time to time. I recently discovered how funny this show was. I remembered the MTV version, and was really not at all interested in listening to douchebags express their concerns about it burning when they pee for two hours on the radio. What I didn't realize is that they only take 3 or 4 calls a show... and the rest of the show is Adam Carolla ranting and raving about random shit. And, I find his rants quite hilarious. They should cut out the phone calls. I'd gladly listen to Carolla piss and moan about people that won't turn right on red for two hours.

A few new albums in the player.

Edguy - The Hellfire Club. Solid metal out of Germany.
Edenbridge - Goth Metal from Austria. Lead singer sounds as good as she looks.
Leaves Eyes - new project from the former lead singer for Theater of Tragedy
Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Christmas Music for Metalheads

Split Lip Rayfield, Bonnie Prince William, Neko Case, Tom Waits, and Elliot Smith.

I'm in a dark mood, minus the Split Lip.

I agree. I was a late adopter too.

Right now I'm listening to:

The Raveonettes - Chain Gang of Love - A sweet and sour, happy sounding (but sometimes lyricaly depressing), feedback covered collection of infectious pop songs.

Johnny Cash - American IV: The Man Comes Around - Acoustic set of cover songs (except the title track) dealing with approaching death. An appropriate topic for his last album.

Offspring - Homemade mix CD containing an approximation of their setlist for their 2004 tour that stopped in KC at the Uptown Theater. Great live performance. Includes several songs from their latest album, Splinter.

Green Day - American Idiot - Pretty catchy, but I'll have to listen more before I decide where it ranks among Green Day CDs. So far I like.
