ENDelt's deck thread

One of my favorite things about my condo is my big deck. Unfortunately, my deck's kinda ****ed up. I knew it was ****ed up when I bought the joint, but I've never gotten around to doing anything about it. I'm finally taking care of that now. Over the next couple weeks I'm getting bids on getting work done on it. I figured I should put my digital camera to good use and document the transformation.

An added benefit of sharing the pics here is some of you fellers that like to build stuff and know all about that might pipe up from time to time and say, "Hey, you should do this." Or, "Holy smokes, you dipshit. I can't believe you did that."

I find the deck kinda hard to explain to folks who have never seen it. Hopefully these pics make it easier to understand what my situation is. If I can provide a better picture or description of something, let me know.

The stairs leading up to my place. They'll be getting replaced as part of this project as well. Unfortunately, due to the HOA, the new stairs will have to be painted that color.

Those stairs look like they've seen some heavy duty service, you know, like from fat chicks. 'Cause ENDelt likes his girls heavy.

A shot of the planters that surround the deck. The genius that designed this lined 'em w/ sheet metal. Apparently he was unfamiliar with the concept of oxidation. This has led to damage of unknown extent at this point. I do know about a hole in the ceiling of the storage closet down below.

A piece of shit cabinet. I think while they're tearing shit up anyway, I'm gonna have them tear this ****er out. It's ugly as sin, and it's not even watertight. I'm considering replacing it with one of those Rubbermaid storage closet things.
