My fiancee and I are going to our first Cheifs game at Arrowhead this weekend. It sounds like its going to be chilly. We are driving down from the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area.
I am just curious what time I should show up at the stadium for tailgating. I would like to avoid heavy traffic if possible. What time do you guys suggest going to the stadium? Is there any tips on parking? How much is it? Hopefully at my first Chiefs game I get to witness the chiefs pulling their Head out of their A$$es and play some good football. Long live the CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

They open the gates to the parking lot at 9:00. And there's a line to get in at that time. If you want to avoid the pre- gate opening crush, show up around 9:30- 10:00. That should give you enough time to find a parking spot and have a little bit of a tailgate. Parking costs 15 dollars. And that's to park out in the boonies. Many people park outside of the gate and walk a mile to save the money. But you've got to get there pretty early to find one of the 'free' spots.

One other note-if you plan to drink any 'adult beverages' when you tailgate buy 'em on Saturday. No beer or spirits for sale in either KS or MO before gametime. [img]http://63.249.247.210/ubb/mad.gif[/img]<P>

I hang at D11. Stop by if you want. Not sure what's on the menu yet, but we'll get 'er nailed down b4 Sun. Maybe stew or gumbo.
