Is this a good flat panel monitor?

I'm giving my analog flat panel monitor to my brother to get this one.

Is this a good flat panel? What's the real difference between digital and analog monitors? I know the difference between digital and analog, but don't know how it could impact a monitor.

I'd opt for something larger. Save up a little more money and go with a 19 inch.

Agreed. Anything under 19 inches is going to make you wish you'd waited.

The difference between digital DVI and 16-pin SVGA for me was striking.

As far as the specs go it's a good monitor. There's a "response time" spec that's missing however. That's important if you game.

I couldn't find return/warranty information.

Take a look at this Sony Monitor, they're virtualy the same as in specs and about $100 cheaper. I own this same one and it's awsome.

How many inputs does your Sceptre LCD have, 2 or 3?

DVI, VGA, and S-video

It's also 12ms I believe...I watch TV on it...

Essentially, I'm only paying 75 dollars for this monitor because my brother wanted a 17 inch, but couldn't spend anymore money on a monitor than the one that was included, which was a 15 inch.

So I told him I'd give him my monitor, which is a 17'' analog flat panel for this 17'' digital flat panel.

If it is only 75 out of your pocket I would say go for it. Otherwise Go with the Sceptre monitor rufusmaqe linked you to on newegg or look at the Acer monitors on NewEgg. Newegg is a great site. I have spent about $30,000.00 there over the last year and have never had any 'real' problems. Had to rma a couple of HD's and that is it.

In that case, the only thing you have to worry about is the response time. This appears to be one of the few Dell monitors that is less than 25ms (12ms is what it lists), so you should be good...
