What's The NFL Record For Combined Yards And TDs By A RB Duo?

I was wondering because we have such a good O Line and two stud RBs and since we seem to be into records I thought maybe Holmes and Johnson could both rush for about 1,250 yards each with 30 TDs between them. I figure that would prolly the record and also make us very hard to beat. You know, like a sore peter.....

When Marty was in Cleveland he had Mack and Byner both go over 1000 yards. I think that spawned RBBC.

Simpson and Braxton gained 2497 yds for the Bills in 1973. Not sure if that is the most, but I can't come up with any that are more.

New England's leading rusher in '78 (Sam Bam Cunningham) didn't even have 800 yards rushing (768). Horace Ivory had 693, Andy Johnson had 675, Steve Grogan had 539, Don Calhoun 391, James McAlister 77, and Mosi Tatupu had 6 yards rushing. This had to be the mother of all RBbC's.

Word and Okoye were a pretty good duo off and on for a few years too.

Yep. He had varying success with it. The '72 Dolphins weren't too shabby either with Csonka, Kiick and Mercury Morris.

Since nobody can really stop our run game and we have two very good RBs I think we might consider using them in tandem and be a little less balanced between run and pass with a little more run. Put us in a position to make more big plays when we do pass and maybe break a couple more offensive records in the process.
