LB Donnie Edwards Has His Sites Set On Broncos' Back-Up

"If Gus Frerotte is the quarterback, we are going to come after him like we did Moses Moreno," LB Donnie Edwards wrote on his Official Site. It's doubtful his words were eagerly received in Denver considering the Chiefs defense has been responsible for sending their last two opponents' quarterbacks to the locker room early.

"[Moreno] was running for his life," Edwards wrote in his online diary. "Man, we were coming from all over the place. I feel sorry for that quarterback! We were coming to kill his *@#! We've been knocking out quarterbacks two weeks in a row now! I wouldn't want to play quarterback for the Broncos this week!"

Mike Shanahan announced on Friday that QB Brian Griese would hopefully suit up as the back-up for Sunday's game against Kansas City. Griese's father, meanwhile, hinted that he may in fact see the field on Sunday. While calling the Michigan State-Notre Dame game the elder Griese said that, "he may sit out, but you never know."

Not that it matters to Edwards.

"I don't care who starts, to be honest with you! I don't care who the quarterback is! I wish Brian Griese, Terrell Davis and every other starter was in there because that's the only way to know that you beat them," Edwards explained. "I don't want them to say, "Oh, we didn't have our quarterback or we didn't have Terrell Davis." I want them to have everybody so they can't say anything when we beat them!"
